Pesto

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2011
Awesome! I roasted a whole head of garlic and used it. I added a squeeze of lemon juice and then froze the leftovers in ice cube trays for my sons. They can take a cube out and use it anytime they want pesto pasta. Easy!

Artichoke Spinach Dip

Reviewed: May 6, 2009
I make this every time I have a gathering. The recipe is always requested. Serve it with Triscuits, veggies, or any snack cracker. I always use the Progresso Marinated Artichokes if I can get them. They have a great flavor.

Lemon Mousse Pie

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2007
I made this tonight and got rave reviews from my family. I used a graham cracker crust so it was much quicker. I'm going to try this again and make some mini mousses for a party.

Cream Cheese Penguins

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2006
Great appetizer idea! I made a plateful for a holiday gathering of friends and they loved them. My husband thought they tasted great. I used chive and onion cream cheese to give it some taste. Fun recipe!

Cheese Ball I

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2006
I didn't like having so much cheddar cheese in this. I couldn't really taste the cream cheese much because of this. Next time, I'll cut back on the cheddar by about 1 cup. I also added more green onion and some chopped ham. My party group really liked this even though I thought it could be better.

Blackened Salmon Fillets

Reviewed: Jun. 9, 2006
Simply Awesome! This was so easy to prepare and cook. My husband was wanting some blackened Salmon like he had tasted in a restaurant and I gave this a try. He couldn't stop raving how great this was. I used blackening seasoning instead of all the other spices. It was much easier than mixing up the others in a bowl.

Lemon Icebox Pie III

Reviewed: Apr. 9, 2006
Wonderful smooth creamy pie. I made it on a whim 2 hrs before company came because I needed a quick dessert that I could use my lemons on. Everybody loved it and said it was delicious. I did not use any whipped topping on it but that would probably have made it creamier. I did use more lemon rind than was called for because I really love that lemon flavor. I just added this one to my recipe file.

Sausage Balls

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2005
These went fast at a Christmas gathering we had. I did jazz them up a bit by adding red pepper flakes. It gave them just a bit of heat. The tip about using the food processor to mix it all up worked great. Otherwise it would be difficult to mix it by hand.

Pumpkin Bread IV

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2005
This was very tasty and dense. I was sneaky and used 1/2 Splenda sugar replacement on this recipe and nobody could taste the difference.

Chocolate Layered Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2005
This was so creamy and delicious and very easy to make. My family raved about it. I did make it with a pre-made graham cracker crust because my husband isn't wild about nuts and it was great that way.

Chocolate Cavity Maker Cake

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2004
Awesome dessert! I made this for company and they were oohing and awwing over how yummy it was. I had a cake mix that already had pudding in it so I elimated the box of pudding the recipe calls for. I have also made this with milk chocolate chips or whatever type of choc. chip I have on hand. Great dessert!

Italian Spaghetti Sauce with Meatballs

Reviewed: Oct. 16, 2004
My family loved this sauce. It was my first attempt at homemade and it turned out delicious. I substituted crushed tomatoes and also added about 1/4 cup red wine in the last 1/2 hr of cooking. I was skeptical about adding the meatballs uncooked, but I used a very low fat meat and it was fine. My husband said this sauce and meatballs were as good as our favorite Italian restaurant.

Beef and Bean Chimichangas

Reviewed: Aug. 28, 2004
Awesome recipe. I got lots of comments like ummm good mom! I didn't have any taco sauce so I used a whole jar of salsa. I made a beanless version for my son who doesn't like beans and he thought they were great. We served with lettuce, tomato and sour cream. These were a hit and definetly going to be on our list of favorites.

Alyson's Broccoli Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2002
Great Recipe. I even got my husband to eat it. He hates broccoli and I was nervous that he would not even try it. He tried it and went back for seconds. Next time I think I will cut back on the Mayo about 1/4 cup.

Super Fajita Marinade

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2002
This is an awesome marinade. I tried several others before I settled on this one. My family loves my chicken and beef marinated in this. I make quesadillas all the time using this recipe. I have not used any of the Anise seed. The recipe is good as is.

Carrot Cake III

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2002
I had to try this after reading all the great reviews. My cake was awesome! I had to make 2 cakes. One for home and one to take to a church gathering. I did cut the frosting sugar in half and added more cream cheese and it tastes wonderful. Next time I make it, I will cut back on the oil and try the applesauce. Great recipe!
