About this Cook
I'm a stay at home mom to 2 daughters. Just recently quit my job at a call center. Getting ready to move up to northern Arizona where hubby has a job with a copper mine.
My favorite things to cook
Baked Pineapple; chicken and dumplings; mashed potatoes; basically comfort food!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My father used to make this awesome hickory smoked turkey for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Recently we found an online website that sells it and it reminds me of those delicious turkeys he'd smoke each year.
My cooking triumphs
A a "Sinful Food Party" friends and I would attend, I made baked pineapple, which is something different to bring to a potluck. It was ALL GONE (a 13x9" dish!) and I took home an empty baking dish!
My cooking tragedies
Ever make oatmeal cookies and forget to put in the oats? I did! My brother, who was in the Navy at the time, was home on shore leave...I was a teenager at the time and wanted to make some cookies. Put the 'dough' on the cookie sheet, placed it in the oven, and a minute went by when I realized NO OATS in the oatmeal cookies!! BLECH!!!

Funnel Cakes
I liked this recipe because it wasn't incredibly sweet dough. I just halfed the batch which made 3 funnel cakes for us! Good job!

Sausage Balls
I remember these when I was a kid--going over to my friend's house on Christmas day and eating these by the dozens!! This was a very easy recipe to follow. I made a half batch, which is good because I got about 32 sausage balls out of it!! I used mild cheddar cheese and hickory smoked sausage (Jimmy Dean) and it worked out great.
