Vintage Lemonade

Reviewed: Jun. 23, 2012
Wow! This is super awesome! I did do things slightly different out of fear for too much lemon flavor. First I used a vegetable peeler to get the rind without the bitter white part. I only let the sugar sit with the rinds for about 20 minutes. Then, after pouring the boiling water over the sugar and rinds, I squeezed the lemons into the hot water. Once I was done squeezing, I didn't wait any longer and strained out the rinds and pulp. End result is smooth, sweet, lemony goodness! Don't be afraid to try this!

Classic Waffles

Reviewed: Jun. 6, 2012
This is a crisp waffle but its very bland. I followed the recipe exactly and they just didn't have the flavor I was looking for in a homemade waffle. After tasting the first one, I added some brown suger and more vanilla and it helped. I like this sites Wonderful waffles they have a great flavor. Also, I should have seperated the eggs to make them fluffier :)

Wonderful Waffles

Reviewed: May 23, 2012
First time making waffles from scratch and I was not disappointed! These are wonderful! Although I thought it was strange there was no vanilla so I added 1 teaspoon. But thats the only change I made. Crisp on the outside and light and fluffy inside, they almost melt in your mouth! Wonderful flavor and not too sweet. I didn't have any to freeze because we ate them all! I may try other recipes but I will hang on to this one, it's a keeper!

Beer Batter Deep Fried Dill Pickles

Reviewed: May 22, 2012
This batter is very crunchy! But it does lack flavor, just something missing. I tried this with generic brand pickles that were very thickly sliced and I know that was my fault, not the recipe. But I did remove some fried batter from the pickle to tast on its own. This would be a 5 star recipe if someone could figure out how to punch up the flavor. I tried adding more pepper and garlic but it didnt seem to make enough difference. Maybe just frying it in peanut oil would add flavor?

Best ever meatloaf

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2012
This is so good! Make sure to use a good brand of sausage and lean ground beef to cut down on the grease. I absoluely love this as is (so does my family). But you could always throw in some cheese or bacon for a different flavor. OH I made this for a family friend after they lost their mother. They said it tasted like their grandmothers meatloaf and she died in the 1970's!

Restaurant-Style Buffalo Chicken Wings

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2012
I made these for super bowl this evening. But I did it a bit different. I mixed about 1/3 cuo EVOO with 1/2 teas garlic powder and 1/2 teas paprika and 1/4 pepper then tossed the chicken in it. Then I poured the flour mix in and coated and refridgerated. These came out very crunchy and juicey. Tasted great with and without sauce! I'll probably make these again cause the hubby likes hot wings but I made BBQ too :)

Banana Nut Bread I

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2011
This is amazing! I used 4 bananas, real butter, added cinnamon, and used splenda blend sugar and brown sugar so my diabetic mother and mother in law could have some. It is soooo moist and it was plenty sweet with the splenda! I will not use any other banana nut bread recipe from now on, this is it for me :)

Pumpkin Spice Truffles

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2011
These really melt in your mouth and are so simple to make! The pumpkin pie spice can be increased or decreased according to your taste. This is one of my favorite holiday desserts to make and give to family for Christmas :) Next time I'm going to use milk chocolate with peppermint extract and crushed peppermint candies to decorate!
