Slow Cooker Chicken with Stuffing

Reviewed: Jul. 28, 2012
Great idea! This recipe is so easy to make. I prefer cream of mushroom soup, but either would work very well. If you want to spiff it up a bit, you can add diced onions, and celery to the bottom of the crock, put the chicken on top of the vegetables, pour in the combined liquid over the chicken, and put the stuffing mix on top. I use Mrs. Cubbison's stuffing mix (16oz), but it still works great. After cooking the stuffing on top, you can pull out the chicken and stir the stuffing into the liquid. I work away from the home so I had to slow cook on low for the day and the chicken has great flavor, but ends up as shredded chicken after 10 hours. Luckily, my family love it. We all give it 5 stars!

Watermelon Sherbet

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2012
There was a very large watermelon left on my doorstep and I was looking for unique ideas to use it all up. I purchased all ingredients for this recipe and followed the recipes exactly, except I doubled everything. There may have been too much lemon; however, the sherbert was not sour. My kids loved the watermelon, but we did not like the sherbert as well as I hoped we would. It did have a wonderful texture, but I wouldn't know how to change this enough to be comfortable trying it again.

Chicken Taco Filling

Reviewed: May 5, 2012
My crock pot is going to be my go to for family meals when I start working again. I am excited to find such simple recipes that are practical for our needs and so super easy! My children complain when there is too much spice so I will use 1/2 packet taco seasoning and a can of diced tomatoes for a little extra. Thank you DBRENNY!

I have made this dish a few times now, and it has gotten great reviews. No changes are necessary. I always add extra garlic to everything though.

Cowpoke Beans

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2010
These beans were awesome. I kinda cheated, and I hate that because chef inspired recipes should be treated that way, but they were still great. I had to make enough for a side dish for my Class of 2000 reunion BBQ so I calculated the recipe for 70 and I used 3 gallon size cans of Bushes pinto beans. I used lots of garlic (I didn't measure), but I used all of the other ingredients to the exact measurements they were calculated out for. I cooked and crumbled the bacon into the tomato mixture and saved the tomato mixture for the next day. We were traveling so it went with us on ice. I added the beans and simmered everything together for 20 minutes, then headed out the door. I only heard positive remarks about the recipe, and even bean haters said they loved them. The only problem I came across was that the chili powder was not listed in the directions. I added it to the tomato mixture but still had to give this recipe 5 stars. My husband is a bean hater and told me I had permission to cook these again in the winter and he would eat them.
