About this Cook
I am a middle aged Cajun girl. I enjoy cooking and feeding people. I am a mother of a 24 year old son. My little dog is my little angel. My Honey Frank is the best guy ever. Love the outdoors and love traveling.
My favorite things to cook
Grilling, new recipes, cajun foods.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Gumbo, boiled crawfish. Believe it or not there is a secret to boiling the best bugs ever.
My cooking triumphs
Not so good a baking. I do like to add my own touches to recipes.
My cooking tragedies
Trying to make a broccoli cheese soup ended up with the blender up in smoke. Frank wanted to throw everything out but instead I sent him to the store for white rice and it ended up being the best broccoli cheese and rice casserole ever.

Mom's Best Peanut Brittle
On Christmas Eve I thought I'd make peanut brittle for the family gathering tomorrow. All was going well but my therometer wouldn't go over 240 degrees so I turned up the heat and within no time my mixture started to turn very brown so I poured it onto my baking sheet. It was more of a caramel cream instead of brittle. Am I supposed to keep the sugar bubbling the whole time? I left the 'brittle' at home. Happy Holidays, The Brittle Disaster

Ultimate Potato Soup
This soup is awesome. I used chicken stock instead of boullion and also added fresh bacon bits and parsley for flavor. The soup was so delicious, it didn't last very long although it was a very large batch. Yummmm!
