About this Cook
I teach middle and high school technology and social studies on the western slope of Colorado. My husband and I have two teenagers-one of each- we also have about 350 head of mother cows and raise hay.
My favorite things to cook
Solid down to earth feel good recipes. Mexican, some stir fry, anything on the grill, Italian, lots of comfort foods.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Christmas at my house usually with a home grown prime rib dinner!
My cooking triumphs
I am really good at cooking meats and adding things to recipes. I am lucky that my family is not overly picky!
My cooking tragedies
I tried a shepherd pie one time that my husband has asked that I never make again! Also, I love homemade bread but it usually turns out like hockey pucks or with large holes in the middle. Can't figure out what I am doing wrong.

Enchilada Sauce
This is absolutely fabulous!! I put in too much garlic, but this is definitely a keeper! Going to make bigger batches and can it to have on the shelf!

Fresh Cherry Cobbler
I added some vanilla and cinnamon and cut the sugar in the cherries to 1/2 cup as suggested by previous readers and this is fantastic!!! My family loved it! I will be making this again and again!
