About this Cook
I am a mother of 2 young kiddos and I have another full time job. This pretty much consumes my everyday. I love to spend time with my hubby and family.
My favorite things to cook
Chili, birthday cakes for my kids, although that's only been 2 to date.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mother makes the best pies. My siblings and I have birthday roasts instead of birthday cakes.
My cooking triumphs
Any meal that tastes wonderful is a triumph! That means after my hubby takes a bite he says "Oh baby!"
My cooking tragedies
The first time I tried to make muffins I believe I was maybe 10 or 11. I used 4 cups of water instead of 1/4 cup. It took about 3 hours to bake and they were definitely rubbery. The tragedy in my adult life was still tasty, but ugly. The first year we were married I iced the cake before letting it cool. The cake fell apart and looked like a pile of poo.

Curried Quinoa
Really, I give this recipe a 4.5. I followed the recipe as is, except using regular chili powder b/c I did not have ancho chile powder. Regardless, it was very good and I will definitely try this recipe again, adding some veggies and chicken next. Definitely a keeper in my book!

Good Old Fashioned Pancakes
Absolutely perfect. I've added fruit and vanilla on occasion and it's always amazing. I will never buy pancake mix again. Thanks so much for this recipe!

Good-Morning Banana Nut Cereal
Excellent recipe and so delicious. I have made this with the bananas as called for and also with blueberries. Both were wonderful and I'm so glad to have a new recipe with quinoa in it!
