Yellow Squash Casserole

Reviewed: Jul. 6, 2013
Delicious! I put a little extra squash in because I had half a squash left when I got to 4 cups. I ended up with around 5 cups.

Apple Crisp II

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2012
The first time I made it I used melted butter and I didn't have crisp. The second time I made it I used cold butter and cut it with a pastry blender. It was crispy on top but too small of pieces. The next time I make it, I'll cut it with the pastry blender and then grab it and make it chunk together as I spread it over the apples. Also, you can bake the apples while you make the crisp topping and it cuts down on the total time to prepare.

Stephanie's Freezer Spaghetti Sauce

Reviewed: Aug. 28, 2011
I followed the recipe as written. The sauce was amazing, but watery, until I added the 6 oz of tomato paste. It was terrible after that and I tried adding back more spices, pepper, a little sugar, etc. and it still tasted like tomato paste. I'll try just adding cornstarch whisked with water to the next quart. I am surprised no one else has commented on the bad tomato paste flavor. This leads me to believe I'm doing something wrong. If you have any ideas, please let me know! I still have more in the freezer without the paste.

Bacon Wrapped Shrimp

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2010
I used frozen pre-cooked jumbo shrimp and thick bacon. To compensate for the difference in cook time, I cooked the bacon in the microwave until it was almost difficult to wrap around a shrimp. Then I grilled them for around 6 minutes or so, flipping them a few times. A few of them caught on fire, but it was fine. Turned out yummy!

Easy Iced Coffee

Reviewed: Aug. 7, 2010
I like my iced coffee sweet and chocolatey so I added some chocolate syrup. I also made it with 2 tablespoons of chocolate ice cream and it was amazing! I love the frothiness.

B and L's Strawberry Smoothie

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2010
Very yummy! I made it with greek yogurt. If you don't like the yogurt taste in your smoothie, just use vanilla frozen yogurt. I also added blueberries the second time I made it.

Cheddar Baked Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2010
I didn't use all the breading the first time around because I didn't realize how much there was. So be generous while you're breading the chicken. Put all the leftover breading on top of it before baking it. I also broiled it to make it super crunchy after it was fully cooked. Used it the next day straight out of the fridge on a salad, just slice it up - it was amazing! Next time I'll pop it in the oven on broil before adding it to the salad to get some crunch back into it.

I halved the sauce as per other reviews and it was perfect! I also added celery and green onion. Delish!

Sarah's Salsa

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2010
I used cherry tomatoes from the garden and added a can of "three bean salad" from Aldi (seasoned Mexican-style). I made it without the ribs or seeds of the jalapeno but it wasn't spicy enough so next time the whole thing is going in.
