Kettle Corn

Reviewed: Mar. 30, 2013
I really love this recipe now that I got it right. The first time I made it I used half white sugar and half raw sugar thinking that it would be a nice balance between caramel and sweet. It tasted alright but it was tricky to make because the raw sugar does not dissolve nicely like the white sugar. Not only that but I got a bit lazy with the 3 second shake rule and I almost burnt it... a few times. Let me tell you, the other reviewers are not kidding it burns very easily. The next time and ever since I have used just white sugar and have been absolutely dedicated to the 3 second rule and it has been wonderful every time! I would definitely recommend this recipe, but just make sure you stick to the 3 second shake rule and shake it like the dickens!

Best Ever Jalapeno Poppers

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2011
These turned out pretty well. Although my husband and I felt that they were a little bland. Next time I think we might try adding some seasoning to the bread crumbs, and maybe a little bit of spice to the cheese mixture. Otherwise they were great. The breading process is a little time consuming but well worth it. I think this recipe is a good start but could but could use a little something extra.

Company Cauliflower

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2011
I sauteed some white onion and garlic and added it to the cauliflower. This turned out great. It was rich, creamy and oh sooo good! I will definitely be making this again and again!

Chicken Pot Pie IX

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2010
After I read the reviews I decided to make a few small changes. I omitted the celery and added 1 potato instead. When cooking the chicken and veggies, I added a sprig of fresh rosemary, and used chicken stock instead of water. I then reused the same stock to make the gravy. I also added 1/4 cup more milk and stock to the gravy which made more than enough. Also I got rid of the celery seed, and used garlic powder instead. Oh and for the pie crust I used the "basic flaky pie crust" recipe from this site. So long story short, it was great! I am definitely going to make it again!

Blueberry Raspberry Pie

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2010
This pie tasted great, but I found it to be really runny. My mother in law suggested I use minute tapioca instead of the cornstarch. I tried it again and it worked perfectly.

Basic Flaky Pie Crust

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2010
I have always been afraid of making pie crust. It has always seemed do hard, until now. Not only was this recipe incredibly easy to make it turned out perfectly. Even though my first pie was runny the crust remained flaky. I used the recipe again for a chicken pie and it was great. The crust is perfect for both sweet and savory pies. I will definitely use this recipe over and over again.
