Mrs. Sigg's Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2005
Every kid loves these cookies! I can not keep them around. They are very easy to make. My 9 year old said "Mom, how did you make these, they're brilliant?". I used all butter instead of the butter flavored shortening.

Very tasty. I made just as the recipe indicated. A nice mix of crunchy on the outside and soft inside.

Oatmeal Drop Cookies

Yummy! Came on this because I had buttermilk which needed to be used. These are nice and moist and very tasty. Makes a smaller amount then indicated but well worth it.

Best Carrot Cake Ever

This recipe rocks! It is so moist. I didn't change the recipe at all, but did choose to make two smaller cakes using springform pans..as this is very rich.

Baked Spaghetti with Chicken

I think it comes out very dry when baked. I suggest just making the sauce and serving it over boiled pasta

I add carrots and parsnips, yet still comes out very bland tasting.

We love this recipe just as it is. I often steam broccoli to serve with the bread for dipping.. and for the kids, hot dogs.

Chicken Piccata II

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2004
This turns out great with the following suggestsions.. Use real garlic instead of powder; Use chicken stock instead of boullion powder and use a dry white wine instead of water. I also throw in capers and double the sauce. I always "scallopine" the chicken as well, pounding it thin and then cutting into smaller pieces.

Baked Pork Chops I

Our favorite..However I simplify it. I coat and brown the pork chops as suggested. Then place in baking dish and cover with the sauce. I then cover and cook for about an hour.

Shrimp and Mushroom Linguini with Creamy Cheese Herb Sauce

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2004
I think this recipe is great as it is.. However, I like to add diced fresh tomatoes and sliced steamed asparagus to up the nutritional value. I also often decrease the butter with no change in flavor. I have plopped in frozen uncooked shrimp at the end and it continues to turn out great every time. I can also suggest using pre-marinated frozen shrimp for added flavor.

Basic Ham and Bean Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2002
My husband declared it his favorite soup. I used dried navy beans, soaked them several hours then cooked the soup for several hours until the beans broke down and the soup became thick. In total it took 10 hours, but worth it on a snowy, cold winters day! I suggest more carrots and celery.
