I used all purpose flour and it turned out wonderfully. You can also sprinkle cinnamon and sugar for another delicious option.

Ham and Cheese Quiche

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2003
This was so easy and tasted fabulous! The only thing I did differently was use up 4 slices of swiss cheese(two on the bottom layer and two in the egg mixture)and used sandwich ham meat, cut up which I combined with the egg mixture as well. The pie crust didn't really cook thoroughly, I'm not sure if it's because I didn't cook it long enough (45 mins), but it turned soggy, so we just ate the filling. I think next time, we'll prebake the pie crust and then fill it. Another thing I'd do differently is instead of layer the swiss on the bottom, I'll just combine it all with the eggs and then use about 1/4 cup of the egg on the bottom layer and then add ham to the egg mixture and top it off with that. Other than that, it's perfect.

Microwave Corn on the Cob

This couldn't have been any easier, not to mention great tasting! After nuking it in the microwave, I removed the paper towels, buttered the corn and then nuked it in the microwave for a minute longer. PERFECT!

Baked Teriyaki Chicken

Reviewed: May 27, 2003
These were good, everyone liked them and raved about them. Instead of basting them every 10 mins, what I did was pour all the marinade in, and flipped the pieces every so often, much easier. I didn't have cider vinegar, so I just used plain vinegar and it worked fine. The skin was great, but the meat itself was rather plain and I did marinate them for 4 hours. However, I enjoyed them more when I dipped them in the marinade from the pan. I think next time, I'll double the marinade so I can have some for dipping. Will be making again, thanks.

Shrimp Scampi V

Reviewed: May 28, 2003
WOW! This was so good! Tastes just like ones you find at restaurants. Only changes that I made was that I used 6 cloves of garlic, 1/2 cup of white wine and 1/2 chicken broth and added 1 tomato, diced. Sauce didn't have a strong wine taste, very good. Thanks a lot. Can't wait to try this on company.

Grandmother's Buttermilk Cornbread

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2010
I reduced the flour to 1/2 cup and upped the cornmeal to 1 1/2 cups because I like my cornbread less cake-like.

Salisbury Steak

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2003
Everyone loved these! They all told me to make sure I give this a 5 =). I have a habit of "tweaking" recipes to our liking and this was no exception. I doubled the recipe and added some sausage to it as well. After browning the patties, I added 1/2 cup of water to the pan and scraped up all the bits so it wouldn't be wasted and that liquid was added to the sauce (instead of plain h20). I also doubled the sauce and added a can of cream of mushroom soup so we'd have more gravy and left the flour out since the soup thickened the sauce. I then layered non-stick aluminum foil to a casserole dish and baked the patties covered in the sauce at 400 degrees for 30 minutes. No dirty dishes for me! Washed everything while patties were baking. Thanks!

Angel Chicken Pasta

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2002
This was really good. I also doubled the sauce, added sauteed mushrooms to the sauce and used linguine (hate angel hair pasta). Next time though, I think I'll cut up the chicken and saute that too (as others suggested).

BBQ Chicken Pizza

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2003
You're right when you say it tastes like the CPK pizza! Yummy! I ommitted the pepperoncini peppers and substituted it with green bell pepper. I also used a mix of mozzarella and monterey jack cheese. Make sure you slice the onion and pepper thinly (it tastes best that way). I just had regular bbq sauce, so I added a dash of hot sauce and boy, it gave it a kick. Good stuff, will be making again. Thanks.

Ultimate Twice Baked Potatoes

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2003
These were great! Everyone loved it! I followed the recipe to the t, except I added 1/2 the bacon to the potato mix. One thing I'd do differently next time is to use less sour cream, I felt there was a little too much and I love sour cream.

Tofu Lasagna

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2003
Just made this for family and guests and they all loved it! I didn't have some ingredients, so I did a few substitutions. Sub ricotta cheese for mozarella and for the top layer of cheese, had to use monterey jack since I had no mozarella. I added spinach and shredded carrots to the mixture and used 1 1/2 jar of spaghetti sauce. They all ate the bottom layers but didn't really touch the top, I'm guessing the jack cheese didn't go too well with the recipe. Anyhow, it was a hit and I'll be making again soon. Thanks!

Banana Sour Cream Bread

Wonderful! This is the first time the crust of any banana bread turned out edible (meaning it didn't brown too much before the top did!). Everyone loved it and yes, it was moist!

Pita Chips

Reviewed: Jul. 3, 2003
These are excellent! Served these with store bought hummus, but chips were all gone! I didn't have chervil, so left that out, ran out of garlic salt, so I used garlic powder and added some onion salt. Also, I don't get how everyone warned to make sure to watch the chips carefully...I baked mine for 10-15 mins (maybe longer) and they still weren't crunchy! It did however become nice and crunchy. Thanks, will be making again.

I didn't follow this recipe, but I used the idea (of the muffin cups) with another recipe (cheddar quiche) and made my own pie crust and it turned out wonderful. Thanks for the idea, I'll be serving this for next our next brunch with guest!

Jay's Signature Pizza Crust

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2003
First attempt at making pizza and this dough was really easy, just really sticky and I used about 1 more cup than what was called for. Used the dough to make calzones and the "Gourmet Chicken Pizza" on this site and everyone kept on raving about how wonderful the crust was. I added about 1/2 tblsp of garlic powder and needed in some butter, it was delicious.
