These were good. The batter tastes likes the ones on your usual corn dogs, however, I only had beef franks, so it did alter the flavor and it just didn't taste right. I substituted soy milk for the milk since I was out and honey for the sugar. I also used peanut oil/olive oil because I didn't have vegetable oil on hand. Also, I had a hard time making the batter stick on the hotdogs, one suggestion is to heavily batter it and place it in the fryer immediately, wait a second or two and turn it right away, or else your batter will seperate from the meat and float to the top. All in all, the batter was good, but next time, I'm using pork franks, I'm sure it'll be better then.
