French Toast I

Reviewed: Apr. 30, 2011
This recipe would also be WONDERFUL using Banana Bread. For best results, you'd want to use a dense/heavy Banana Bread to prevent crumbling.

Holiday Left-Over Sweet Potato Cake

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2011
AMAZING and another 5 stars!! An extremely 'flexible' recipe as well - one person's review said they added some cooked carrots. I only had about 3/4 cup sweet potatoes left, but had alot of regular mashed potatoes so figured it was worth the try and substituted the remainder w/those and mixed in some molasses to sweeten them up. I also added a little ginger and nutmeg, just cuz I like those flavors. THANK YOU MLYIN for the DELICIOUS and CREATIVE way to use up leftovers!

Peanut Butter Cup Cookies

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2011
I make this recipe using cookie dough from the refrigerated section of grocery stores. Both sugar cookie and chocolate chip cookie dough work well. I've also used Palmer brand Caramel Balls in place of the peanut butter cups when I can find them.

Homemade Flour Tortillas

Reviewed: May 20, 2012
These were very good. Was glad someone said they had substituted butter since 'real and unprocessed' lard is next to impossible to find. Like another person, mine came out thicker, except for one, which got too crispy - suspect there's a 'knack' to rolling these out right. I did have to use flour to roll the balls in or they were too sticky. Thanks for sharing the recipe.

Boardwalk Quality Maple Walnut Fudge

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2011
I have made this fudge, using vanilla flavoring instead of maple. It's in the Sweetened Condensed Cookbooks. My husband can no longer have chocolate and loves maple so this was a hit.

Bacon-y Bok Choy

Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2012
WOW!! GREAT recipe, although a bit too spicey for us, as written, so cut back on the red pepper flakes the second time around. LOVE bacon so added a couple more pieces and used all the drippings and added extra cabbage. Also added a little ginger. This is a GREAT recipe for Atkins and a nice change.

Egg in a Boat

I use french bread, like in the movie, "Moonstruck!" You can cut it to your own preferrred thickness.

White Chocolate Blondie Brownies

Reviewed: May 20, 2012
I LOVE that it uses butter and not any of those UNhealthy oils most people think are healthy (except for coconut oil). Not that sugar is healthy, but if I'm going to eat it, at least I'm not adding to the degree of UNhealthy!

Melt - In - Your - Mouth Shortbread

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2013
AMAZING! I crushed some candy canes and mixed them in one batch and added some "Lemon Bakery Emulsion" to another, then dipped the baked cookies in a little powdered sugar. Since there are no raw eggs in this recipe, you can "taste as you go" for the amount of flavor a person wants. You could also add some peppermint oil (food grade please) as well. If a person is expecting sweet, this is NOT the recipe for you. These are wonderful w/coffee and/or tea cuz they aren't sweet.

Avocado Dessert

Reviewed: May 17, 2012
This was 'interesting.' I can't say I loved it, but it wasn't too bad either - one of those things that's kind of hard to describe and maybe it's an 'acquired' taste over time. I was so curious, I had to try it. I did cut the recipe in half to try.
