Friend made this for a holiday party; I had three cups; enough said. It was great.

Good Dog Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2001
My dogs gobble these down in a matter of days. The only change I would suggest is to use "sodium free" beef flavoring, as dogs cannot process salt. I cut down to one cube, and the dogs still gobbled them up. Suggest to go to salt free broth instead of the flavor cubes to be on the safe side.

Brandied Candied Sweet Potatoes

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2001
This was a super-easy recipe and was a big hit at Thanksgiving. I would definitely recommend it. Comments I received were that this recipe had the exact sweetness required for a sweet potato recipe, and that most recipes for sweet potatoes are too sugary. This recipe just enhanced the flavor of the sweet potato and did not overpower it. I think they were cooked in less than 35 minutes.

Grandma's Green Bean Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2001
This was a big hit at Thanksgiving with everyone asking for seconds. I think everyone was surprised that canned green beans could taste so good, because they certainly did with this recipe.

Homestyle Turkey, the Michigander Way

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2001
This is a good recipe, however, I would recommend cutting down the cooking time for the turkey by at least one hour. Five hours was too long for the size of turkey indicated.

Sweet Potato Cheesecake

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2001
This was a good recipe; I made this for Thanksgiving dessert. The biggest challenge was the crust--it was difficult to spread the crust on the bottom of the pan, and then later on, the sides. I think it could have cooked longer than the suggested 70 minutes. I know the recipe said cook until set, but I thought it was set at 70 minutes. Would recommend this only to experienced cooks due to the crust factor!
