5 Minute Greek Dip
About this Cook
I am passionate about cooking and strive to make my meal as healthy and nutritious as possible. (sometimes just substituting a low fat ingredient or adding an extra veggie!) I also love being outside, design, marketing, and making my amazingly talented husband smile. If you want to know more, visit my blog: www.thefreshfridge.com
My favorite things to cook
I love to try something new in the kitchen. A new spice? A new hybrid fruit? A new technique? I'll try it out! When I was younger I focused on baking, so I have always enjoyed the holiday season and baking cookies and breads. Lately, I have been a big slow cooker fan. Who wouldn't love whipping something up in the morning and coming home to dinner?!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mom has always been a gourmet cook, so that is what I grew up with. I always loved trying new foods growing up and still do. We also always bake lots of cookies for the Christmas holiday which is a big event for our family.
My cooking triumphs
Anything that my husband says, "we have to make this again!"
My cooking tragedies
One night I had planned on making a lean, wine-infused beef stroganoff for dinner. I had gone to the grocery store earlier that day and bought any missing ingredients I would need to make the dish. In a rush, I didn't get all the ingredients out before starting to cook and just as I was about to put in one of the final (and most important) ingredients in...it was missing! I had forgotten one of my grocery bags at the store. Needless to say, I had to dump the whole dish since it was a time sensitive ingredient. BUT, I did try again (with all the ingredients) and it turned out great!!

Greek Dip
Quick and easy recipe that is great served with crackers, warm pita bread, or veggies (for crackers I recommend a wheat or multigrain cracker to balance the flavor). I used 1/3 less fat cream cheese and added an additional half tablespoon of the sun-dried tomato pesto.
