About this Cook
I am a student and military wife. I am not the best cook in the world but I certainly try very hard. Everything I cook is made with a lot of love and I think you can taste it in my food.
My favorite things to cook
I am currently trying to eliminate canned, processed, and prepackaged foods from my cooking...so I have had to learn to be creative. I love baking bread, making soups, salads, and casseroles. The goal is healthy comfort food.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My older sister is an amazing cook and just watching her in the kitchen is magic. Now that I am married and learning to cook, it's fun to share recipes and ideas with her. Oh...and eating my mom's yummy chewies(blonde brownies) is another family tradition :)
My cooking triumphs
learning to use local, in-season produce and eliminate processed foods from my cooking has required a lot of trial and error but was well worth it.
My cooking tragedies
Way too many to list! The day I caught the potholder on fire and didn't realize it until the house was filled with smoke comes to mind, as one of my most tragic attempts at cooking.

Jo's Rosemary Bread
Didn't use a bread machine and used whole wheat flour instead of white...turned out super soft and chewy with a crispy crust! Very good!

Flax and Sunflower Seed Bread
This bread was delicious and super easy...it could have used a little more salt but was still great dipped in some homemade soup! Thanks for a simple yummy recipe!

Peanut Noodles
Loved loved loved them! They were super quick and easy to make...they tasted even better cold! I did think they were a little salty so I think next time I will use light soy sauce instead. Oh and I was out of ginger and they still tasted great! Thanks for a wonderful vegetarian recipe!
