Strawberry-Banana-Peanut Butter Smoothie

Reviewed: Apr. 26, 2012
Good-tasting, filling smoothie. The strawberry/peanut butter combo is a good one. I don't really taste the banana, but I think the banana is just to add sweetness and bulk, and it works for that. I added flaxseed meal to mine to make it healthier, and I used 1/4 cup each of nonfat strawberry yogurt and nonfat plain yogurt.

BBQ Pork for Sandwiches

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2013
Turned out great...my husband loved it, and since cooking isn't my forte, I'm really glad to have another easy and tasty dish, especially one I can stick in the crock pot in the morning before work so we can eat as soon as we get home. Instead of cooking on high for four hours and then cooking in a Dutch oven or skillet, I just put all the ingredients in the crock pot in the morning for 8 hours on low.

OREO® Triple Layer Chocolate Pie

Reviewed: Jun. 20, 2011
Really delicious. I made as recommended, but didn't have problems with the layers. I froze it, but wouldn't do that again; next time, I would simply chill in the fridge.

Berry Delicious

Reviewed: May 3, 2012
Very good smoothie! Servings are small, so for breakfast, I made two servings of this smoothie for myself, added flaxseed meal, and used the whole banana (for 2 servings, it should have been half a banana). It turned out great!

Berry Smoothie

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2012
Nice and tasty combination. I modified the recipe, substituting half of the milk for nonfat vanilla yogurt, only using a couple ice cubes, and instead of sugar, half of a banana.

Blueberry, Banana, and Peanut Butter Smoothie

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2012
This was good, and very filling. I substituted frozen mixed berries for the blueberries, and left out the honey. It was not quite cold enough for my taste, so I will make this again, but I'll substitute frozen bananas for fresh.

Chicken Breasts with Balsamic Vinegar and Garlic

Reviewed: Jun. 20, 2011
Very good--it's a nice, savory dish I've made four or five times, although I've usually made with dried (and rehydrated) shiitake mushrooms--they come out great!

Mellow Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Jun. 20, 2011
Good cookies, but messy; I made them because I had the ingredients in my kitchen and wanted to use extra marshmallows up. I made as other reviewers suggested (350 for 9 minutes), but I didn't have parchment paper, so I used wax paper instead. Cookies must be removed quickly to dry; if they dry to the wax paper, the melted marshmallows are devilish to get off.

Potato, Broccoli and Cheese Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2011
This soup is one of my favorites, although I made some modifications: I used olive oil instead of margarine, I didn't cook the broccoli separately (I also used broccoli florets rather than bunches and used a bit more than the recipe called for), and used about 2/3 the amount of cheese recommended. Over all, delicious, but it needs something more--garlic or nutmeg, perhaps (I'll try that next time).

Thin Mint Green Monster

Reviewed: Jun. 13, 2014
Except for subbing regular milk for the coconut milk, I made the recipe as listed but the mint was too overpowering. I tried fixing it by adding more water and spinach and then by adding a scoop of chocolate protein powder. It was still too strong. I'll try it again, but I'll sub fresh mint for the mint extract, or only put a very tiny amount of extract in. UPDATE (7/16/214): I made this again, only this time I doubled the use of fresh mint and didn't use any mint extract at all. It was much better this time, so I increased my initial rating. Still, as I wouldn't make the recipe as listed again, I am rating this as a 3 (my modified version was more like a 4, but the original version was a 1).
