Beef Stew VI

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2013
So Delicious! And so easy. Just have to remember to get an early start, but otherwise this couldn't be simpler and and all but the beef I have on hand at most times. I added about 1/4 - 1/2 cup of water after boiling the meat for the hour because I wanted a little more broth. My husband suggested I cut back on the vegetable cook time a bit so they are not so soft, but that's his personal preference. I'm sure I'll be making this a lot during the coming cold weather.

Roast Beef and Vegetable Bake

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2013
Unique taste that everyone seemed to like. Reduced bake time from 45 to 25 minutes because all veggies were overcooked. Also added just a splash of wine. Lot of prep work.

Trying to recreate a Thanksgiving memory and this one fit the bill. Easy and delicious. Didn't change a thing.

Zesty Slow Cooker Chicken Barbecue

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2012
LOVE this recipe. What a great use of chicken breasts and so easy. First time I made this was for camping (prefer slow cooker for camping so I can have a meal ready after a full day of play). Pre-measured salad dressing, sugar and Worcestershire and put in baggie. When we got to camp I just threw in all in the crock. Our preferred bbq sauce is Dinosaur. When you open the crock at the end of cook time you're going to see a whole lot of liquid. No worries. Grab a couple of serving forks and shred away, the liquid will be absorbed in no time.

Cowboy Skillet Casserole

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2012
Used taco seasoning, added corn and a little extra beans as suggested and still found a little bland and dry. Not a family favorite. Thanks anyway. It did peak my interest for trying more skillet dinners with my cast iron.

Roasted Garlic Mashed Potatoes

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2012
Pretty good flavor but not as exceptionally good as I expected. Maybe the highly flavored steak I had with it overpowered the potatoes. We really like garlic so maybe I'll add a little more next time. Will try one more time to see if it's worth the extra effort rather than my regular approach of just butter and adobo seasoning.

Best Steak Marinade in Existence

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2012
This was delicious! We were arguing over who got to have the leftovers - which I took and they were still tender. ;) However, though I rather rate a recipe on it's own merit, I have to say I did combine this with Sirloin Steak with Garlic Butter here on AR. Great combination.

Sweet Restaurant Slaw

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2012
Quick, easy and so delicious. Didn't change a single thing. Been meaning to make my own coleslaw for years and wishing I had my moms recipe. Definitely make it ahead and stated so that everything can blend and soak in. I think my son and I could eat this in one sitting.

Juicy Roasted Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2012
Moist and falling off the bone. I smashed fresh garlic into the softened butter before spreading it everywhere (very hard to spread butter on a cold chicken). Similar to the way I cook my turkey. Could still stand a little more flavor in my opinion. Presentation was gorgeous.

Bev's Orange Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2012
This had an ok flavor. Not much orange flavor to it when following recipe as is. Tender, but that may have just been the fact that it was thighs instead of my usual breasts.

Primal Crustless Spinach Quiche

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2012
Delicious gluten free/primal meal. Had pork sausage on the side. I cut back on cheese by one cup (used swiss and mozarella) just because it seemed like plenty. I used olive oil for the pie pan and cooking onions. So quick and easy. Definitely a keeper!

Crispy Chicken Strips

Reviewed: Aug. 16, 2012
Quick, easy and pretty decent. I used chicken breasts since it's what I had. Not crunchy at all (son glad, I was disappointed). Per suggestion, I used garlic powder, thyme and a bit of seasoning salt. Worth making again.

White Chili with Ground Turkey

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2012
I've made this so many times since finding it, I can't believe I never reviewed it. It has a very unique taste the my family loves. I rinse the beans, but otherwise follow the recipe exactly. My boys love adding a little salsa to their bowl.

Yummy Cheese Ball

Easy and excellent! I've made it for the past two Thanksgiving dinners. Only thing I do differently to save time is using a jar of real bacon bits instead of frying up my own.

Coconut Ambrosia Salad

Simple. Pretty good. Not the best ambrosia I've had. Needs more fruit. I think I'll add a can of fruit cocktail next time.

Hamburger Potato Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2011
This was surprisingly decent for a quick meal. I added diced onions and garlic and steak seasoning to the hamburger. Did not have green beans (and didn't really want) so I added corn, tossed it in the 1 hour timed oven and headed off to the gym. Decided not to mess with cheese when I got home. It was warm, ready and waiting in the oven when I got home. Served with fruit and bread/butter.

Chicken Stir-Fry

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2010
Fantastic! Probably the first chinese dish that turned out so good. Very simple and everyone in the family (plus couple guests) liked it. I used sliced ginger (rather than dry) just because it's what I had on hand, doubled the soy sauce and garlic, added a little brown sugar and a bit of crushed red pepper flakes. Really, overall, not major changes. But I do recommend adding the cornstarch to the water near the end rather than to the chicken at the beginning.
