Grandma Johnson's Scones

Reviewed: Jun. 26, 2012
INCREDIBLE! I just pulled my first batch out of the oven and they are so amazing. I followed the recipe except I split my dough into 3 batches. The first batch I added orange zest and dried cranberries, then made a batch with dried blueberries and one with chocolate chips. This recipe is definately a keeper. I'll be making these regularly.

Buttermilk Pancakes II

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2011
These were amazing. Took the advice of another reviewer and added 1 tsp of vanilla, otherwise followed to a T. Superb! Made more like 20 large pancakes rather than 12; and not sure if it was just my stove or skillet but these browned WAY faster than mix pancakes, so I had to reduce my heat considerably.

These are great! I used real salted butter instead of oil.

Angela's Awesome Enchiladas

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2011
I'm rating these at 4 stars because my husband loved them. I didn't think I would be able to really taste the lime juice but I did, and to me it didn't compliment the chicken. I will definately make again and omit the lime juice and maybe use 1/2 the chilis, as mine turned out too spicy for kids. The best chicken enchilada recipe I've tried to date.

BBQ Pork for Sandwiches

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2011
I goofed on the recipe (forgot the broth, just covered in bbq sauce and cooked all day). I should have looked over it again before making this dish; but it still turned out good. It still would have been better had I turned the crockpot off after about 8 hours, before the bbq sauce burned. Even still, it is still good and I have a TON. Used a pork shoulder roast. I'll put quite a bit of it back to use in bbq beans, etc. Great recipe. I can't wait to try it the right way. Super easy and delish!

Cabbage Fat-Burning Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2011
This soup is delicious if spiced up. HOWEVER!! WARNING!!! This soup has many natural sources of insulin and will drop your blood sugar level very rapidly. This is not safe for people with hypoglycemia. I just experienced this and am now having to take measures to stablize my blood sugar.

Cowboy Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2011
I've been making a much more complicated version of this recipe for 15 years and it is always a huge success. My recipe calls for pork sausage instead of ground beef. Very hearty

Pork Chops to Live For

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2011
I have been making this for years, though in the oven. It is a fool proof hit every time and I keep it in my regular rotation. I omit the egg and just season and dredge in flour before searing in a pan. Sometimes I saute my onion and 1 cup of fresh mushroom in the pan also. I bake at 350 for about 45 minutes.

Roasted Garlic Lemon Broccoli

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2011
This is a great alternative to steamed broccoli. A perfect side dish for our chicken cordon bleu. I will try it with different herbs as well.

Chicken Roll-Ups

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2011
This was a pretty good recipe. Mine seemed a little dry, but I may have overcooked it, as I had several things going at once. Next time I will make a sauce to top it with and use sun dried tomatoes instead of red pepper.

Honey Brie Spread

So delicious! Will definately make this again and again. I used slivered almonds instead of pecans, but I didn't like the almonds as much. Thanks for sharing this excellant recipe.

I'm not sure if I did something wrong, but this turned out very bland and no one ate it after trying it at a New Year's Eve party.

Mom's Zucchini Bread

I made this recipe tonight and it was ok. It seemed to be missing something. I was looking for a recipe that more closely resembled the Starbucks zucchini bread. Thanks for sharing.

Mouth-Watering Stuffed Mushrooms

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2011
I made these New Year's Eve and they were a HUGE hit. It was hard to serve them and not eat them for myself. I had a ton of stuffing left over though. This recipe is a definate keeper. Maybe next time I'll drizzle with a little white wine before baking.

Savory Party Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2011
I have made this twice in a week and it is fabulous. I've used a large french loaf as well as a round sourdough loaf. It would be hard to say which is my favorite. Once I mixed minced garlic with my butter and one I sprinked garlic salt over the top and in the cracks. Both were a huge hit. Also I used pepperjack cheese both times. YUM!

Parmesan Asparagus

I tried this tonight as a veggie side to braised short ribs and risotto. It was great though I wish I had followed a previous reviewer and added fresh lemon juice. I will definately serve this again.
