Navajo Fry Bread II

Reviewed: May 18, 2011
Way too much salt, would cut back and do 2 tsp, not tbsp. Also too much milk or too little flour. Way too sticky, impossible to roll into anything. Had to put another cup of flour in it just to grasp it, then used more flour so it didn't stick to my hands and to the counter. Would have been good had it been way too salty. Indian tacos were a bust tonight :(

Slow-Cooked, Texas-Style Beef Brisket

It was ok, but I didn't like the flavor much. Didn't seem like BBQ but it was ok.

Jalapeno Poppers I

Reviewed: Sep. 17, 2010
I love poppers, I buy them in bulk all the time, but never made them like this before. I added habanero and ghost chile in the cheese cause I'm crazy like that. Another good way to make poppers is to just cut the stem off and leave the whole pepper intact and remove the seeds (a potato peeler works well to do this), then fill with just creme cheese and wrap pepper with bacon and bake or grill. You can get a stand that holds I think like 25-50 peppers at any Cabelas store, or online. This way the cheese stays in the pepper.

Beer Braised Irish Stew and Colcannon

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2010
If I could give this a 6 stars rating, I would. This was amazing. My picky kids even liked it. I did however change a couple of things. I added salt and pepper to the meat while searing. I also didn't use a roast but rather already cut stew meat, which made it easier. I cooked it for 8 hours on low in a crock pot. I also added a flour rue to thicken the stew towards the end. It was perfect! Oh and I used a 14oz can of Guiness!!

batter was too thick, taste was so so. I didn't like the flavor, but my 3 year old liked it, so you get 3 stars for him.

Best Burgers Ever

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2010
I followed the recipe exact except I took everyones advice and did one whole egg. I think it was too much egg. It was very wet, and hard to form into a patty. I was worried it would fall apart on the grill and fall into it. I formed patties the best I could and put them inbetween wax paper. I put them in the freezer for a couple hours so I had a better chance they wouldn't fall apart. This worked. I wouldn't say this was the best burgers ever. It was good, but different. I thought it was sweet, but had a good burger texture. I would much rather prefer a swiss and mushroom burger or a bacon cheddar burger over this. It was worth trying, but I wouldn't be adding it to my family dinner routine. It was good don't get me wrong, just not my style.

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2010
I cooked this on low for about 4 hours, then switched it to high and added veggies. It was good, only thing I would do different is add spices to it. It needed salt bad. It was very bland, and had little flavor. Giving it a four star as it tasted similar to my Grandmothers pot roast so for memory sake, it gets a four star rating from me.

Marinade for Steak I

Reviewed: Aug. 5, 2010
A good marinade. I would recommend leaving it overnight to give it more flavor. I'll try that next time. I may add cilantro and jalapeno next time as well.

Eggplant Parmesan II

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2010
I wanted to try a different way of making this and the ricotta sounded interesting, so I made it and the wife liked it but I prefer the way I do it, which is very similar but no ricotta and fresh basil. I also don't use salt to sweat out the eggplant. All in all, wife liked it so 4 stars.
