Veal Stew

New favourite goulash recipe. Have done it a few times, tried beef instead of veal, works fine (with some extra time, must take care to add liquid though) and sometimes mushrooms. Tend to have mashed potatoes instead of the noodles.

Excellent. Will do again. Didn't grill the chicken as long as the recipe says (15 minutes in all was perfect) but I suppose you might have bigger chicken in the States.

Chinese Pork Dumplings

Really liked the recipe. Made one change, instead of pouring water over the dumplings after frying I had boiling water in another pan on the side and threw the dumplings in, then the pan was ready for the next batch. Had an hot oven to keep the boiled ones warm until all the dumplings were fried and boiled. Thanks, will make again!

Chicken Fajita Melts

Pretty good - as I listened to other commenters to toast the bread. Also cooked the chicken way shorter, frying for 5 minutes almost makes bites of chicken breast ready and cooking them 17 more minutes would kill the chicken all over again. (it's not necessary even for contamination reasons). 3 minutes frying over high heat at the beginning, then take the chicken pieces out of the pan and keep until the veggies are done, only throwing the chicken in for another minute near the end of the boiling-down the liquid. My son gave it top marks and we'll definitely make this again.

Danish Christmas Red Cabbage

Leave out the sugar and put red currant jelly instead and hardly any water, just simmer, very low heat with the lid on for an hour (at least). I tend to shred the cabbage fairly fine, if you want bigger chunks you probably have to cook it an hour and a half - two hours. We always cook this Christmas Eve morning (Christmas Eve is the main celebration in Europe) to get the fragrance necessary for the Yule spirit :)

Chicken Breasts with Balsamic Vinegar and Garlic

For my part the balsamic vinegar taste was overpowering. I just might do it again but with only a tablespoon of vinegar instead of 4 whole tablespoons.
