One of My Favorite Recipes
About this Cook
I am a born-again cook! By day I teach at a local university and my weekends are spent in the kitchen; on the grill and brewing beer. The best thing about cooking is sharing it with my nephew and my grandmother.
My favorite things to cook
Anything I can smoke! Heck... I'd smoke Spam if I could! I enjoy playing around with Pasta Primawhateva and BBQ sauces and rubs.
My favorite family cooking traditions
OOOH PA Dutch and country cooking, the kind where there is no recipe... just add stuff till it tastes right! Also love sharing the kitchen with my oldest nephew who will be 6 soon.
My cooking triumphs
Dolmas & Hummus... Steamed Clams & stuffed mushrooms. The best was probably my first Thanksgiving brine & smoked turkey this year. For the first time.... NO leftovers!
My cooking tragedies
Too many too mention.... the worse was the "Beer Can Turkey" with gravy made from the drippings. WOW! Not a good idea!

Real Hummus
This is the perfect base to start with. I make it in greater quantities now, split the batch and flavor separately. So quick and easy, I always have a container in the fridge now. I cut back the liquid to what amounts to 1/4 of the liquid per 32 oz. Thanks for this great recipe!!
