Hasenpfeffer (Rabbit Stew)
Our favourite rabbit recipe to date. It's also very forgiving and flexible, as others have stated. We used lard and some smoke flavour in place of bacon (we had none), doubled the onions and tripled the garlic (we love those flavours), and homemade mixed berry jam in place of the currant (again, we had none). We served it on mashed potatoes and grilled dill and lemon carrots on the side. This meal pleased all of my picky toddlers!

Aunt Norma's Rhubarb Muffins
These are delicious! Unfortunately my 2 oldest boys did not like them (fault of the rhubarb, or perhaps pieces which were cut too large for their liking). I changed it up only a bit to suit our tastes and what I had on hand. I hadn't any white sugar on hand, so I subbed brown sugar for the topping. Nor did I have walnuts, so I just left those out. We also like to add a little rye flour to all our recipes, so 1/5 of the flour was rye and we only keep milk kefir around, so I used that instead of buttermilk. Lastly, I cut the sugar down to just 1 cup for the muffins. These were very moist. Thanks for the recipe!

Smothered Beef Liver
I'm giving this 5 stars even though I didn't love it. My 3 boys (each of whom are very picky at different meals) and my husband LOVED it. The kids asked for seconds and thirds. It was very tender and the flavour of the tomatoes and spices was nice, but I just don't really like the taste and texture of liver. I'll eat it for the kids, and when I do I'll be making it this way. Thank you!
