Rubbed and Grilled Pork Loin

Reviewed: Jul. 4, 2012
Brillant!!! This was so yummy even my picky 6 year old came back for second and thirds. All 5 of us loved it but watch the cook time, I cooked a 6lb loin for 70 minutes and next time will taked it out 5-10 minutes sooner. It was still moist but could have been a little moister.

Best Ever Muffins

Reviewed: Jun. 13, 2012
I have been baking for over 25 years and tried at least 30 muffin receipes. This recipe is the best base recipe I have ever used. The only thing I changed was adding one teaspoon of vanilla and the trick one of the other reviewers had of preheating the oven to 425 and then as soon as you put the muffins in reducing to 400. I only need to bake mine for about 18 mins and they were tender and popped out of the pan just perfect.

Mom's Sticky Chicken From 1972

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2011
This was soo yummy we will be making this allot. I would use a disposible foil pan next time because if the sauce exscapes the foil it is really sticky to remove. Also we used 51/2, 1/2 boneless skinless chicken breasts and I would double if I had company. For the five of us it will feed us two meals. Thank you so much for this receipe.

Whoopie Pies VIII

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2011
This is sooo yummy I am not sure why others went flat but I think it is because they did not cook them long enough as I added one minute to my cook time and mine are high and puffy. The first time I made them I followed the receipe as written only omitting the raw egg whites as there is no reason to add them to the frosting. The second time I added about 1/4 cup more cocoa to the cookie. I also added 1/2 a tablespoon more of vanilla to the frosting and made it with 1 cup of butter and only 1/2 cup of shortening. They do taste better after they have set in the fridge or freezer for a day. Thanks for the receipe.

Coconut Oatmeal Cookies I

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2011
I have this recipe in an old receipe book but it calls for just butter. I made these excactly as the recipe calls for except used heaping spoonfulls of the baking soda and powder and they were better than my old receipe. They look like the picture soft and puffy. Just delicious, thank you for the recipe Darlene.

Fluffy Seven-Minute Frosting

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2010
This is just like my mom's receipe she made it for 30 years and we called it Fluffy Icing. My mom added the cornsyrup and a dash of salt to the sugar and water mixture. Also she would add food colouring and peppermint. We always had it on Angel Food cakes and requested it almost every birthday. Her receipe was hard to read so thank you so much for this easier to read version. Yummy!

Rave Reviews Coconut Cake

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2010
I made this cake in a 9x12 pan and poked holes in it like in Coconut Poke cake from this site. Then iced it with the icing adding coconut extract. Soooo yummy it is my families favorate cake. I also used some suggestions from other members and did not add all the coconut suggested to the cake and it was so moist and yummy it was unbelievable. I do not understand how anyone could not love this cake unless they hate coconut.

Papa Drexler's Bavarian Pretzels

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2010
We loved this receipe, I followed other peoples suggestions and made 8 pretzels. I hand kneaded them and did need about 1/2 cup more of flour. We did four with kosher salt and four with cinnamon sugar. We will diffently be making these again but next time will baste with butter before putting in oven and after and then add the cinnamon sugar as I think they will taste better. Yummy
