Everybody loves a three-day weekend. I spent mine cooking. I made four new dishes, three of which went over well. As one of my co-workers stated, "Batting .750 will get you into the Hall of Fame."
We started off on Sunday (I don't know where Saturday went!) with a
Chicken and Broccoli Braid
Swiss Steak and Honey Oatmeal Bread
I'm 29 and live with my boyfriend. I'm trying to eat healthier, so between that and trying for some variety so that he doesn't always have to eat the same thing, I'm trying to learn some new recipes. I like quick and easy, but I'm now also trying to use fresh ingredients.
My favorite things to cook
Beef stroganoff, marinated pork loin, chicken stir fry with olive oil, meatloaf
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mom and I used to make cookies all the time. We had to make a double batch of the dough in order to get a normal amount of cookies because my dad and brothers would keep eating the dough off the pan.
My cooking triumphs
I make great peanut butter fudge. I also once made a strawberry roll cake that looked and tasted pretty impressive.
My cooking tragedies
Cheesecake. It doesn't like me.
