I'm a single mom with 2 boys, Matt (15) and Jon (5). We live in a small town where the big festival of the year is Johnny Appleseed Days. I'm active in both my kids' schools doing anything I can to help. I am starting to do childcare in my home so I can be there for my kids before and after school. I love cooking anything that puts a smile on my guys' faces. They love my cooking and always brag to their friends about how great it is. I'm frequently asked to make snack items for the upper classmen are on the football team with Matt. And Jon says I make the best food ever! Homemade pies were what my grandma used to make and I would help then we'd make cinnamon rolls with the leftover pie dough. Yummy! We are a meat and potatoes kind of family and everything made from scratch. Most people my age think I'm weird for not cooking out of a box. I won the Apple Pie baking contest at Johnny Appleseed Days a few years back. I've also placed 3rd and 5th in the past. Not too many tragedies- if something doesn't work out cooking wise I have a beagle named Zoey who will eat most anything. Plus I always learn from the mistakes and try harder the second time around.
