I wanted to add my own touches, but I was determined that for once I would actually use the recipe. The only thing I changed was to make my own cornbread mix (since my husband can't have glutens) and use real eggs.
We really enjoyed this dish; the texture was great.
I could not taste the green chiles, so I will either double the amount or omit. I didn't think the canned mushrooms added anything, so I will either saute fresh mushrooms or leave them out.
I am going to use this recipe to make an Easy Chicken and Dressing. 2 onions, equal amount of celery, fresh Bay, more spices, no green chiles but lots of fresh mushrooms.
