Baked Maryland Lump Crab Cakes

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2011
i live in south louisiana and have eaten many crab dishes, this is one of the best. thanks to the reviewer that said to use 2 eggs instead of the egg product. i'm an old redneck and didn't have a clue as to what "egg product" was.

Grilled Okra

Reviewed: Aug. 31, 2010
this was about the only way i've never eaten okra and it was very good. there is no need to oil the grill since the okra has already been dipped in melted butter.

Bacon Cabbage Stir-Fry

cooked properly there is no need to add water to this wonderful, easy dish. more garlic, mustard or onions is a matter of preference and i added lots of each.

Shrimp and Okra Gumbo

Reviewed: Jun. 9, 2009
i enjoyed this easy recipe but don't use water, when possible buy head on shrimp and put the heads and shells in about 8 cups of water, cook on a slow bubble for about 45 minutes or until you have six cups, drain it and then you have shrimp broth, it adds a lot of flavor to this dish. don't get crazy over this, it needs ABOUT 6 cups. if it's off a little it ain't nutthin to worry about.

Comforting Cube Steaks

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2009
i also cooked this in the crockpot and it came out very good. one piece of advice, never season meat and then pour liquid over it, it washes the seasonings off, do it just the opposite.

Frozen Chocolate Pie

Reviewed: Jun. 8, 2008
i don't give out many 5 stars but this dish is flavorful and easy. it's a wonderful dish to make with small children since it doesn't involve anything sharp or hot. also, add 1/4 teaspoon of peppermint oil when you add the vanilla and use an chocolate pie crust.

Slow Cooker Cranberry Pork

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2007
didn't have time to do this in the crockpot so i carmalized 2 baseball sized onions with 3 minced cloves of garlic in olive oil, browned the tenerloin for about 5 minutes on each side, added the cranberry mix and simmered for 2 hours. this is a very easy, delicious recipe.
