Butternut Squash Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2014
I used "not chicken chicken broth" sounds funny,to keep it vegetarian. I also used less cream cheese after reading reviews. And according to the poster. Glad i did because i think more and i would have lost to much of the butternut taste. Thanks am going to make it for thanksgiving

Classic Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2014
Just got done making these. Yummy, but after reading reviews decided to add more flour and p-nut butter as others did. Glad i did because while some liked them as is, they stated that the p-nut butter taste was not strong enough. So with the additional they came out perfect for our taste. I did use creamy instead of chunky but that's because i have four jars in my house. My reason for wanting to make cookies,so thanks for the recipe even though it was slightly tweaked

Chewy Almond Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 12, 2014
My Son needed to take almond butter and coconut oil to his culinary class for an assignment. Well he brought home leftovers so decided to make almond cookies with the almond butter. Well was surprised to see other reviewers used coconut oil. Win win. I don't use shortening so didn't have it in the house anyway. I thought they were ok, but thats just because it's not my favorite kind of cookie. My Son liked them so thanks for a recipe where i was able to use items i don't usually have on hand.

Torta di Riso

Reviewed: Aug. 18, 2014
Saw this and couldn't wait to try. I did not have nutmeg but other wise every thing was the same. Liked it but didn't love it. I think i would like to try it with artichoke hearts. Loved the tip about putting the parm on the bottom. Loved your video though, don't usually watch them

Southwestern Macaroni and Cheese with Adobo Meatballs

Reviewed: Jul. 28, 2014
I am rating this on sauce only. Maybe i shouldn't because of changes but love cotija and have wanted to try it for mac n cheese. I didn't have cottage cheese and probably wouldn't have used it,sounded weird and by other reviews was probably right. Cotija doesn't melt real creamy either but that didn't bother me. I thought sauce was a little bland, but loved the flavor of the cotija. So i just added some taco seasoning mix, recipe from this site and loved it. So thanks for the idea. And sauce only because i'm vegetarian so don't know about meatballs.

I will never buy a can or tube again.this is so easy and simple. I didn't measure, just added to taste and i thought it wasn't sweet enough. Made strawbery short cake for my Son and his friend and they loved it. Leftover was just as good tonight.

Roasted Brussels Sprouts

Reviewed: May 2, 2013
I love that such a simple recipe could get almost 2,000 reviews. I can' remember the last time i had Brussels sprouts, although i love most vegetables. Probably goes back many years to a Mom who wasn't much of a cook and probably served them boiled and mushy. I saw them at the store the other day and wondered why i never buy them. So i did and looked for a way to cook them. These were very good i did cut them in half, and i loved the way the loose leafs browned and got crunchy. Next time i think i will tear off more leafs. Again simple is great.

Cilantro-Lime Dressing

Reviewed: Apr. 26, 2013
Got me at lime and cilantro. I like to make a recipe as close to as written as possible, at least on the first try. I don't use honey, but decided to by some i used a very small amount and glad i did. I made a chopped salad with corn, black beans, green onion, radish and added Cotija cheese and avacado. Added chicken to my husbands. We both liked it wish i would have doubled it but will make again. I also think i added a bit more lime. Like it tangy.

Tasty Fried Eggplant Balls

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2013
Wanted a new way to try eggplant so tried this, really liked it although i used what i had. Red and yellow peppers, and Parmesan cheese. Next time i make, i will sauté onion and peppers because the raw onion flavor was a bit strong. But overall really like made a double batch so have been enjoying leftovers. As long as my husband doesn't mind my onion breath,

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2012
This was good, was looking for recipes to use udon noodles. Loved the dressing, sesame oil was too expensive at my store so i didn't use it. I agree with others that you can use what ever veggies you like. I also added napa cabbage and mushrooms. I don't think iv'e ever used fresh ginger but boy it was good in this.

Red Velvet Cupcakes

Reviewed: Jun. 1, 2012
Im not much of a baker, but my Son loves red velvet cake/cupcakes so i decided to try this. So much cheaper than buying them. I know some said they were dry or not classic red velvet. Well we loved them and mine were not dry at all, which i don't care for. I only made half the recipe well with school out and extra kids i wish i would have made all 30. The only change was i had an open package of sugar so didn't know how much was in it i just added and tasted, it wasn't overly sweet. I could sit and eat the frosting with a spoon Thank you we will be eating alot of these over the summer, oh and did i mention so easy

Red Cabbage Salad II

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2012
When i took my Grandma to Clearmans Northwoods Inn i was a vegetarian, so i ate side dishes. I loved there red cabbage salad. Our newspaper had a column where you could request recipes. A reader sent in this recipe, the only thing i did different was reduce the sugar. A reviewer mentioned using thinly sliced onions so i tried it and will make it this way from now on, so thanks.

Carrabba's® Chicken Marsala

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2011
Haven;t made this yet but every year my husbands holiday party is catered by Carrabba's. And this is always included. We end up freezing leftovers and i think he gets tired of it after awhile. We'll have to try.
