About this Cook
My name is Ashley, and I live with my husband, Andy, and our four-year-old son, Breylen. Both of them always seem to be hungry and it's up to me to feed them! I have always loved cooking and baking, but now that I have a family, I love both even more. I also like to entertain. I cook a homemade meal nearly every night and enjoy trying new recipes. I love getting my son involved in the kitchen whenever possible, and he loves it, too. I hope he keeps it up!
My favorite things to cook
There's no way I could pick a favorite.
My favorite family cooking traditions
We always have traditions of making big meals on Christmas and Easter, so I enjoy making big dinners (or dishes to contribute to the big dinners) for family on those holidays.
My cooking tragedies
Honestly, I haven't had a real "tragedy". I guess my first time I tried to make spaghetti, when I was about fourteen or so. I didn't boil the noodles long enough and they turned out quite chewy, but we ate it anyway.

Cali's Sinful Creme Brulee
I made this recipe exactly as written and I thought it was excellent. I might add a little more sugar next time, but overall, great taste!

Blueberry Popovers
I have to agree with the other reviewer on this recipe. It was very easy, which made a nice Mother's Day breakfast, but they were pretty eggy. I understand that with three eggs they're going to be eggy, but I just felt like they could use a little more sweetness in them. I used some melted butter and the remaining cinnamon+sugar mixture and poured that over the top of them once I plated them, and that did make them pretty sweet. For next time, I thought about using two eggs and then putting some vanilla flavored coffee creamer and a few spices incorporated into the batter, like nutmeg and cinnamon sugar, and instead of using white sugar, maybe brown sugar. I'm not sure. I'm not saying this is a bad recipe at all, because it's not, I just would prefer a little less egg texture and a little more sweetness. With some tinkering around, I think this could be wonderful.

Blackened Chicken Alfredo Pizza
I want to add an update: When you make this pizza, and if you have leftovers, it tastes even better after letting it sit in the fridge overnight!! YUM.
