Chef John's Pasta Primavera

Reviewed: Jun. 5, 2014
This was excellent. Followed the recipe 100% and I wouldn't change a thing. I did not cut the asparagus in half vertically like he did in the video because I didn't want to spend that much time cutting each stalk, but it was still cooked to the perfect tenderness.

Spinach Tomato Tortellini

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2014
Delicious. I used 1.5 c. milk and left out the heavy cream and it still tasted great. I also added crushed red pepper flakes which gave it an excellent kick. You could definitely use the sauce with any kind of pasta and it would be great if you don't have tortellini on hand.

Chicken Stir-Fry

Reviewed: May 22, 2014
This recipe was excellent. I picked it because it was simpler/had less ingredients than a lot of other stir-fry recipes I've seen. The only differences I made was using low sodium soy sauce, and reducing the amount to 1/2 cup based on previous reviews that warned of it being too salty. I also just used a bag of fresh stir-fry vegetables from the grocery store instead of the vegetables listed in the recipe to save time. Overall this was a tasty and easy recipe and I plan to add it to our dinner rotation.

Penne with Chicken and Pesto

Reviewed: May 19, 2014
Started making this recipe two years ago and now it is part of our dinner rotation. I always try to follow the recipe but often end up using milk or half and half instead of the cream if I already have it on hand and that tastes great too. No complaints!

Slow Cooker Beef Stew I

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2010
This was absolutely fantastic! I only changed one thing about the recipe, because I didn't have any paprika. Instead I substituted half a teaspoon of ground cayenne pepper and half a teaspoon of sugar. It's excellent for those people who like a little kick to their food!

Pork Chops with Blackberry Port Sauce

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2010
I was skeptical at first (as I always am about mixing fruits in main dishes) but it turned out great! Also I'm not old enough to buy wine so I had to substitute concord grape juice and it worked fine. I saved the extra sauce and am planning to use it on chicken tonight!
