My chief vocation is wife and mother. I'm also a discipleship/education coordinator, cook, private tutor, gardener, scrapbooker, cardmaker, flutist, photographer, blogger.
My favorite things to cook
I like to cook everything! Give me a recipe and a well-stocked kitchen, and I'm happy. :)
My favorite family cooking traditions
I didn't learn how to cook until I was married. My husband was a very patient man, and usually loved everything I made. I do have memories of preparing garden tomatoes with my mom, and having my mom teach me how to make noodles for manicotti, and other Italian recipes (my heritage).
My cooking triumphs
I make a killer chocolate cake.
My cooking tragedies
Every now and then I have a disaster! It's usually when I'm experimenting with substitution, especially with freshly-ground whole-wheat flour in cookie recipes. My sons call them "disaster cookies," then scrape the goo off the pans and gobble it down. It usually still tastes good. I tried to make artichokes once, and I spent way too much time with little end result. Not worth it.
