Oatmeal Drop Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2003
NOt the prettest cookie, but a big hit in my house. My kids can't get enough of these and they don't normally like oatmeal cookies. I used a subsitute buttermilk suggestion (1tbsp lemon juice and enough milk to make a full cup with both) and used baking powder instead of baking soda. I also turned the heat down to 350 and cooked a little longer. One last thing... there's no way anyone is going to get 72 cookies out of this! I got a little more then 36 using a teaspoon.

Fragrant Lemon Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2003
The meat fell easily off the bones and was very tender, juicy; although pretty bland. Couldn't taste the lemon at all, even though I added lemon zest to it as well. I left out the celery and added baby carrots instead. Carrots turned out wonderful. Had mashed potatoes as a side dish. There is a LOT of broth left over. Will probably make a soup with left overs. Maybe leave out the cup of hot water and add juice of a second lemon instead. (I used a 6qt Rival Crockpot, btw)

Creamy Banana Bread

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2002
Wonderfully moist! Cream cheese adds to the flavor but is not overwhelming, and adds the extra moistness. Very good and will make again.

Hershey's ® Kisses Birthday Cake

Reviewed: May 1, 2002
Didn't like how this turned out at all. It was mushy and heavy. The frosting was wonderful but is probably the only thing that my daughter liked. Won't try this again.

Chinese Chicken Fried Rice II

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2002
Love this one! I used thawed frozen mixed vegis and added them after everything. Made for a very quick and easy recipe. I do recommend that you have everything chopped and ready to add before you actually start cooking as this cooks very quickly and leaves no time in between. My 3yo loves fried rice when we are out so this was an excellent dinner for her! And I could chop the vegis and chicken into bite sizes for her and not worry about her trying to stuff something too big into her mouth! And the rest of the family loves it just as well, even my super picky husband (who seems to never eat anythign I make! LOL)

Forgotten Party Cookies

Nice recipie, but mine collapsed in the middle. Not sure what I did wrong, or maybe my oven just didn't stay warm long enough.

Super Dooper Peanut Butter

Reviewed: Aug. 31, 2001
Not really peanut buttery enough. I cooked these without the cocoa powder and the chco chips. Found that 3 tbsp of vanilla was a bit much, almost overpowering. I did cook the without the eggs and they held up very well. Good drop cookie, but comes out rather flat. Recommend you spay the cookiesheet and let the cookies stand a few minutes after baking or they smoosh up and crumble. Don't think I will try these again, or if I do I'll add more peanut butter and modify the recipe for a thicker dough.

Blue Cheese Bites

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2001
A little time consuming if you are cutting up more then one can of biscuts, but older kids can help if your ok with them using a knife. We made garlic bread bites with the same idea but subsituted a garlic spead for the blue cheese. Great for toddlers who can't handle the big garlic bread peices!!

Apple Banana Smoothie

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2000
Nice smoothie, if you have frozen bananas on hand This also needs to be served right out of the blender. I let mine sit and it turned brown from the bananas. But it tasted alright, as long as you can get over the fact that it's brown.
