Green Tomato Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2013
Terrific recipe--thanks for sharing! I tend to cut the sugar by a half cup or so, and I sometimes use a food processor to puree the tomatoes if I have a bunch of smaller ones that I don't want to chop. I've also used nutmeg when I'm out of cinnamon, which is also delicious.

Watercress Pesto

We use this recipe almost every time we buy watercress at the farmer's market. It makes an excellent topping for pasta and pizza!

Indian Saag

Almost as good as our local gourmet Indian restaurant, which is one of the best rated in the DC area. Yum!

Green Tomato Cake

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2013
I accidentally doubled the butter, and it still came out well, especially with the cream cheese frosting that I made. Will definitely make this one again, as we always have green tomatoes from our garden at the end of summer.

Warm Bok Choy, Beet and Feta Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 6, 2013
This was easy and delicious, with a well balanced blend of flavors. I used sesame oil since I didn't have peanut oil, and I also omitted the butter to cut down on fat--still a winner!

Irish Pumpkin Potage

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2011
Wonderfully tasty and comforting on a cold night--the leeks really add to the flavor. I made a few alterations, including using already cooked pumpkin, hot paprika, and to use them up, leftover half and half and sour cream in place of the milk. Ended up with a very thick, warming dish that I certainly plan to make again, especially since there seem to be so few good pumpkin recipes that don't involve baking.

Tangy Cauliflower

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2010
I've actually made this both with and without the cheese, the latter for my dad who can't have milk products. It is great both ways and especially helpful if you have some cauliflower that's leaning toward the questionable in terms of freshness.
