Fried Corn with Bacon

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2011
Oh my gosh, this is so good. I used canned corn for this recipe, about 3/4 drained. I would recommend NOT serving it fresh out of the skillet, but rather cooking it and serving it later, because it gives the peppers a chance to soak up the grease. I'd also recommend adding butter, salt, and pepper after it's cooked, to make the taste even richer. Thanks for sharing!

Easy Whipped Cream

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2010
The sour cream is what separates this whipped cream from store bought. It makes it tangy. However, it's a bit too tangy. I'd recommend cutting the amount of sour cream in half, or, if you want something like store-bought, omit it entirely and add a small pinch of sea salt to counteract the sweetness. Very good recipe! I'll definitely be making it again!

Chicken and Rice Soup I

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2010
I agree, this soup is bland almost to the point of being flavorless. I even added a tablespoon of crushed rosemary and two of lemon juice to spice it up, barely any effect. Also, you need at least 5 tablespoons of flour to make a paste, otherwise it's just too much butter. I won't be making this recipe again.

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2010
The exact recipe is too salty for me, but still very good, and very easy to make. I'm a raw beginner, but I had practically no trouble making this. Thank you for sharing!

Butterscotch Candy

Reviewed: Jul. 29, 2010
I followed the recipe as exactly as I could (I don't have a candy thermometer.), but it never came to the "threads in water" stage. I had to give up because the mixture actually started to burn. The grainy, taffy-like substance I ended up with tastes more like really good caramel than butterscotch. I'll be making it again because it's so good, but still... Not very butterscotchy.
