World's Best Lasagna

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2011
Sooo my 9x13 inch pan is obviously not as long or as deep as yours..which is strange. So I had a little trouble repeating the layers (as in, I had NO room...my dish was almost overflowing after the first round of layers.) But I was able to make it work, and next time I make this I'll just not prepare as much meat sauce or ricotta mixture. Also I guess I got different sized noodles because they were nowhere near long enough to lay lengthwise, so I just laid them the other way. Anyways, other than that I had no problems, and since my problems were not a result of the actual recipe and because this lasagna is INCREDIBLE, I definitely give this 5 stars. I left out the tablespoon of salt because...well, because it's a tablespoon of salt. And the canned tomato products were plenty salty anyways. It tasted perfect, and I will definitely make this again.

Cornbread II

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2010
being from tennessee, i have had some pretty great cornbreads, and this is not one of them. this cornbread is just okay. i doubled the sugar and the cornmeal and used buttermilk and still it was rather dry. we had it last night with vegetable soup--it's great for crumbling into the soup, because you can't tell how dry it is, but for eating it by itself, like i said, it's just okay. i took one reviewers suggestion to preheat the pan with vegetable oil in it before adding the cornmeal mixture and unfortunately my cornbread stuck to the pan. so, i will not be doing that again!

Chinese Pork Chops

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2010
These are excellent! I only had time to marinate for about 2 hours and pan fried them on the stove and they still turned out flavorful and delicious. I am thinking of using this marinade on chicken breasts...

Frosted Cocoa Bars

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2011
i used this recipe because we are moving in ten days and i am trying to use up pantry items; namely, brown sugar, corn syrup, and shortening. Let me just say that this is nothing but a sub-par brownie recipe. While edible, they are bland and dry and you can do better. The frosting is terrible--I poured it down the drain. It's WAY too sweet and the coffee tastes disgusting in it. And I love coffee. Do yourself a favor and skip this one--I recommend "Best Brownies" by Angie on this site--they are fantastic.

Blackened Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2010
This was okay. Too paprika-y for me. It was edible and my husband liked it but I won't make it again. Somehow even with all the seasonings it was sort of bland.

These were okay. Like another reviewer said, I have had better brownies from a mix. The batter was delicious though.

Tangy Chicken Fajitas

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2011
This is a yummy recipe. Got it out of my new Allrecipes cookbook! I will make these again, but next time add a red bell pepper and use a tad less italian dressing. We thought the italian flavor was a little too overpowering.

Favorite Barbecue Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2010
This is so good! I left out the vinegar because I didn't have any but added a little Dale's sauce and a splash of Jack Daniel's whiskey. Baked it in the oven and it turned out great. Maybe next time will coat the chicken lightly with flour so the sauce will stick better. I'm thinking about shredding chicken & putting this on baked potatoes--yum. Thanks for the great recipe!

Sweet and Sour Chicken I

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2011
WOW. This recipe is a lot of prep and mess and dirtied dishes for a meal that does not taste great. It was good, but not one of my favorites, and definitely not good enough to go to all that trouble again. The batter was messy and fell off the chicken while frying, making the whole frying process completely pointless.

Amazingly Good Eggnog

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2010
this eggnog is awesome. my husband LOVES eggnog and after trying this recipe (things i did differently--left out the rum, cloves, and nutmeg because i didn't have any; replaced the nutmeg with ground ginger--diviiiiine) and him gulping it ALL down and asking for more, i was out of white sugar. so, i tried an eggnog recipe using brown sugar from a paula deen cookbook...yours is better by far. i will definitely be using this recipe to make my eggnog from now on. the only thing i will change is to cut back on the sugar and vanilla some, because although it does taste good i couldn't drink very much due to the sweetness, and the vanilla taste is overpowering. and i couldn't imagine drinking something so sweet with liquor in it. but anyways a fabulous recipe, do yourself a favor and TRY THIS!

Summer Style Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2010
This is an excellent dish. I seasoned everything with italian seasoning, garlic, and salt & pepper before baking. I'm glad I did because it was still slightly on the bland side, but that is very easily fixed! And about halfway through the baking time I spritzed some spray-on butter on the veggies because they were getting a little burnt. Anyways I definitely will make this again! An easy, healthy, yummy dish that requires only a few minutes of prep time. Thanks!

Earthquake Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2010
These are so yummy. my first batch turned out rather flat, not puffy like the picture, but still very tasty. i added about 1 T. of flour to the dough before making another batch and they turned out puffier and very pretty :) i want to try this recipe with red velvet cake mix! by the way i highly recommend greasing the cookie sheet..i greased mine and they still stuck a little.

Sausage Balls

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2011
sooo yummy and easy! if you have trouble mixing the ingredients, add a few tablespoons of water. it will hold them together better too. i used really spicy sausage--gives them a really nice kick! and baked at 400 for about 18 minutes; they came out with a slight crisp on the outside that was delicious.

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2010
These are great! I halved the recipe, added 1.5 tsp of cinnamon, and rolled the dough balls in powdered sugar before putting them on the cookie sheet. I am skeptical of all cookie recipes that aren't specific to high altitudes since I live at 5000 ft and have had several recipes fail me. But these turned out perfect after exactly 10 minutes. I think maybe the pudding mix gives them the structure that so many high-altitude baked cookies lack. Thanks for a fabulous recipe!

Caramel Apple Dip

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2010
This is okay. Even though I love cream cheese, it had too much of a cream cheese taste and not enough of a caramel one, even after I added another 10 extra caramels. Probably won't make again

Best Brownies

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2011
I wish I could give these brownies 10 stars!!!! They are SOOOOO good. The trick is to leave them in the oven the perfect amount of time...check them often to make sure they don't overbake, otherwise they are dry and crumby and just not as good! The icing is divine and gives them the perfect touch. So rich--a MUST for chocolate lovers like myself. Do yourself a favor and try these brownies!!!
