Cornish Game Hens with Garlic and Rosemary

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2006
Absolutely delicious! I have made this dish several times now and each time it comes out great and tastes very good. Every time I have made this, I have omitted the white wine because I never seem to have any, but it still comes out perfect! Other than that, I follow the rest of the directions and ingredients exactly as stated. I usually serve this with some garlic mashed potatoes (sometimes I thicken the gravy from the hen to go with the potatoes) and steamed veggies.

Guacamole

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2007
This is the best guacamole recipe ever! I have made this quite a few times and each time it is delicious and gets eaten up very quickly. The cayenne definitely adds some kick to your typical guacamole and that's what makes this recipe soo good.

Annie's Fruit Salsa and Cinnamon Chips

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2007
I only made the cinnamon chips from this recipe and they were soo good! I knew someone who would make chips exactly like this and bring it to potlucks and events. I also thought they were really good but never asked for the recipe. Thanks soo much for sharing. This recipe is definitely a keeper!

Barbecued Beef Ribs for Two

Reviewed: May 28, 2007
This was excellent! My boyfriend kept raving about how good it was and asked me to make it again the following week. I added 2-3 drops of liquid smoke to give it a smokey flavor, it complemented the rest of the sauce nicely.

Brooklyn Girl's Penne Arrabiata

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2007
This recipe was excellent! I did make some minor adjustments. Since I did not have a can of diced tomatoes with olive oil & garlic, I instead diced some fresh tomatoes and tossed it with some minced garlic and extra virgin olive oil before adding it to the pan. I also omitted the basil since I did not have any. And I used boneless skinless chicken breasts which I cut in half lengthwise to help thin them down, instead of the cutlets. Rather than mixing the garlic powder, salt, and pepper with the bread crumbs; I instead used garlic salt and freshly ground black pepper which I added to the egg wash before dipping the chicken breasts. I also did add a bit more tomato sauce and olive oil as I simmered the sauce to create more sauce. It turned out perfectly and had a nice spicy flavor. My boyfriend loved it and took the rest of the leftovers with him to lunch today. I will definitely be making this again.

Blackened Salmon Fillets

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2005
Excellent dish! The whole family loved it. Instead of cooking it on a skillet, I grilled it on a charcoal grill, and it turned out wonderful. I will be making this again.

Scrumptious Strawberry Shortcake

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2007
I followed the advice of the other reviewers and omitted the cream of tartar. I made this for my boyfriend and his family and they all thought it was delicious. They especially loved the cake. I thought it was pretty good but somehow I guess I was expecting a bit more. I will probably make this again but may tweak the recipe a little bit.

Kabob Marinade

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2007
I thought these would turn out great because of all the great reviews so I decided to make these for a party we were hosting. I marinated my kabobs over night but after cooking them, they weren't all that great and were actually really salty even though I had used low-sodium soy sauce. They also were not a big hit at our party. Not sure if maybe it was the meat I chose or I did something wrong with the marinade but I don't think I will try to make this again.

Roast Sticky Chicken-Rotisserie Style

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2007
I cooked this for my boyfriend and his family and it was a huge hit. It was falling off of the bone when I took it out of the oven and was very flavorful and juicy. My boyfriend's mother complimented me on my cooking and told me it was better than the rotisserie chicken she usually gets when she eats out. This recipe is a keeper.

Baked Potato Soup I

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2007
This was absolutely delicious! It was a very nice comforting warm soup for a cold day. My boyfriend kept telling me how good it was. I saved some bacon, sour cream, cheese, and green onions to put on top of the soups just before serving. It came out perfectly. I will be making this again and again.

Slow Cooker Beef Stew I

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2007
This recipe was very easy to prepare and make. I needed a good recipe to get rid of the london broil that had been sitting in our freezer. I didn't want to broil it so this recipe was a really good way to cook cheaper cuts of meat while still making it flavorful and delicious. I have made this recipe twice now and both times it turned out perfectly. It's a very warm comfort food. I will definitely cook this again.

Mexican Rice II

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2007
I cooked this according to the exact ingredients and directions and it came out very good. My boyfriend told me it tasted great just like the mexican rice we often get when eating out at mexican restaurants. I thought it was pretty good also. Will definitely use this recipe again.

Kielbasa and Potato Bake

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2007
I ended up following some of the suggestions of the other reviewers and cooked the kielbasa with onions and garlic in a skillet before adding it to the bowl to mix with the other ingredients. I also scalloped the potatoes instead and used half a cup of milk instead of the two cups as listed. I also omitted most of the salt but sprinkled some grated parmesan cheese during the last five minutes of baking. It was finished baking after 50 minutes. I thought it was ok, but even though I had used very little salt, it still came out very salty which wasn't too much of a surprise since the kielbasa itself is already salty alone. Overall I felt like this dish was somewhat boring and plain. I will not be making this again.

Chicken Breasts with Balsamic Vinegar and Garlic

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2005
Chicken was very flavorful and the mushrooms went excellent with it. I loved the sauce and was actually surprised that it tasted so good. Made some mashed potatoes with it and it complimented this dish quite well. Have made this dish twice already and will most likely make it again.

Japanese Chicken Wings

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2004
It was really really good, but I would suggest making it with something else besides chicken wings, like bonelss chicken leg meat or breasts. I added 1 tbsp of cornstarch to help thicken the sauce, which at first didn't seem like it would thicken at all while it was in the oven, but I found that if you let it sit about 5-10 minutes before serving and then take some of the sauce from the bottom of the pan and pour it ontop of the chicken, that the sauce will thicken. I also added salt and pepper to the flour and didn't add the extra salt to the sauce. I also only put about 1/2 cup of sugar to the sauce mixture. Finally, I added a couple chopped green onions as a garnish on top of the chicken when serving, the green onions seem to go well with the flavor of the sauce.

Fra Diavolo Sauce With Pasta

Reviewed: Aug. 12, 2003
This recipe was simply delicious. I used fresh tomatoes instead, which I peeled myself and added tomato sauce. I also added a bit more garlic which gave the sauce the right kind of flavor for the shrimp and the pasta.
