No Time Left to Exercise

With a second foot surgery looming next week, I have run out of time to exercise.  I will be on crutches for 2 weeks so, have been cooking and baking, getting the freezer stocked up for my days on the couch.  I have made several of my favourite recipes from the Allrecipes site such as White Chocolate Orange Cookies, Cranberry Orange Bread, Apple Pie Muffins and others.  I've done all the work, now it's time for the rewards.  I hope everyone has had as wonderful a summer as I have had even though it took a long time in coming.  Our weather here has been absolutely glorious but is now, as we exit September, finally showing changes toward true Fall weather with rain forecast which will lower the wildfire threat throughout the Okanagan.  Even the leaves on the cottonwood trees in the ravine out back have not turned colour yet and the hills on the other side of the valley are still golden from the dry weather.  Happy Trails,  Tricia from Vernon

Howdy Neighbour! It's been a pretty good fall thus far huh? All I can really say to that is that it darn well shouldbe after that travesty of a summer lol. Good luck with the foot! I'll need some too, I'll be in the Run for the Cure out of Fulton tomorrow morning.

Bing on crutches for 2 weeks is exercise. When My Mom Was Sick When I Was A Kid Many Moons Ago, I Think My Dad Would Buy A 5 lb Box Of Pasta And We Would Have Spaghetti For Weeks On End.

About Me
I am a retired mom of 2 sons and 3 grandchildren. I recently moved to Vernon after spending my whole life on Vancouver Island.
My favorite things to cook
I love to try new dessert recipes for my family and other guests although I rarely partake.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Nothing can compare with family & friends sharing turkey & trimmings at Christmas time.
My cooking triumphs
A perfect blueberry cheesecake. It tasted as good as it looked and it took me 60 years before I tried one.
My cooking tragedies
The 'ol memory isn't as good as it used to be so I've missed a few ingredients in a couple of recipes. Being the perfectionist that I am, they were 'turfed' rather than suffer through eating them.
