I love baking, slow cooking, shopping, shoes, running, yoga, pilates, push ups, MMA, crafts, gardening, and being a wife + mom. I work at Nike + I love my job. I have a sweet little family: hubby and toddler son. My goal is to keep them well fed with home cooked meals.

My favorite family cooking traditions
I just started my cooking + baking journey this year, but hopefully I can build many traditions. "Occytober" will be filled with pumpkin and apple pies + carrot cakes + spooky toppings. I'm cooking my first Thanksgiving this year and I know I want to make cranberry sauce from fresh cranberries + mashed potatoes + gravy + I'm going to try to find the best stuffing recipe around. I plan to go all out for Christmas, cookies galore. I'd like to start a tradition of homemade marshmallows + cocoa for my boys when they come in from the snow. Lastly I'm hoping to do pork + sauerkraut for New Year's.
My cooking triumphs
I got a kick out of making syrup and frosting from scratch!
My cooking tragedies
Ohhhhhh banana cream pie ultra super fail. And recently a bean-rice thing that was an epic disaster.

Waffles I
I used wheat flour to try and be healthy, I bet if I had used white flour that would have been over the top even more yum! Great recipe.

Buttermilk Biscuits I
I like these rolls. They came out really really good the first time I made them. I think I may be keeping them in the oven too long now. I take them out when they are a bit golden, but next time I'll take them out a bit earlier.
