My favorite things to cook
I love to use olive oil and stir fry sliced peppers (all colors) with red onion and cubed butternut squash and sweet potato. I make extra because it freezes well and I always have a colorful, tasty side dish on hand. Yummy!

My mother bakes povitica (a European desert bread with honey and walnuts) from scratch every year. She bakes twice so there is bread for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Mom learned to make extra, because that first loaf always disappeared...

My cooking tragedies
My family teases me about my "Oatmeal Crumbles." I have never had ONE oatmeal cookie come out properly. They never stick together in cookie form - they always break up into little pieces. Still tasty, just totally un-dunkable!
