I changed this up a bit as my husband is allergic to cream cheese (weird, I know!). I replaced the cream cheese with drained cottage cheese. I processed the cottage cheese and the sour cream together till smooth and continued with the recipe as usual. It was a HUGE hit and my hubby was able to enjoy it too! Next time though, I am going to try ricotta instead (the cottage cheese was still a bit too runny for my liking) or an actual cream cheese substitute. Also, I am going to use two cans of refried beans on the bottom layer as I didn't find it thick enough with just one. Be sure to use a 9x13 pan, this recipe makes a lot of delicious dip!!
