I do a lot of experimental cooking. If it turns out good I will make it again. My dad is my subject. I am currently retired and living with my dad as Care-giver for him. I look over recipes on allrecipes.com every day for new ideas. If I don't like an ingredient I will substitute for something else. Works out pretty good. Anything with eggs or Mexican foods. I will attempt to make tamales some day. I follow as many recipes of my mom's that I can find or remember. I still make tacos the way she did, by stuffing the tortilla, toothpicking and frying on both sides. Also the mac n'cheese in the layering method with milk and then baked for a crispy top. Found an easy recipe for BBQ Country Style ribs that is delicious. The sauce recipe is also delicious. I will cook that whenever I can find the ribs in the family pack (money wise). When the bottom fell out of a baggie and the cooked shredded beef with all the sauce landed on the floor. Started over with a different recipe that day.
