Brussels Sprouts in a Sherry Bacon Cream Sauce
This recipes is fantastic. It can convert even the most steadfast Brussels hater! The only changes I made was adding about 2T of fresh thyme leaves to the Brussels along with the olive oil, sea salt and pepper prior to roasting and I used cremini and shitake mushrooms in the sauce. Everything else I followed just as the author posted. I would recommend this recipe hands down to any holiday meal or any meal for that matter. Definitely worth 5 stars.

Mom's Country Gravy
I only rate recipes "as is", if I have to make any changes or additions to the recipe then I am not rating their recipe I am rating my version. So..."as is" this is pretty average, but certainly a good start. Do not use plain oil, there is no flavor to it and it makes it heavy. Either use butter and/or fresh bacon or sausage drippings. If you didn't cook any bacon or sausage first just grab the jar of drippings that any good southern woman has sitting in their refrigerator. I use a compb of butter and drippings. Also, you must let this cook long enough to get all the flour taste out. To changes things up every now and again I add a pinch of red pepper flakes or cayenne pepper. Hope this helps - Enjoy!

Japanese Shrimp Sauce I
I thought it was a good foundation for japanese shrimp sauce. I tweaked the amounts and added a few extras (honey, cayenne, fresh garlic instead of powder, salt and fresh ginger). It turned out great.
