Cinnamon Rolls II

Reviewed: Apr. 10, 2011
First of all, I followed the instructions to a T. Although I have a good bread machine and used good quality ingredients, the dough came out terribly tough. I proceeded with the recipe. Smeared the butter. Sprinkled the cinnamon sugar. Rolled them up. Cut them up. Etc. Once they came out of the oven, I was very disappointed to see that they looked nothing like the picture! They had unwound and barely "grew". The sugar/butter mixture melted all over the place, creating a sticky mess. Still determined to be an optimist, I tried one. The dough is tough and hard. The cinnamon sugar is so sticky that it is still stuck to my teeth. I wasn't impressed with the glaze either. I even tried grating some orange zest into it to redeem it. No help. I followed this recipe EXACTLY and it came out horribly. I am very disappointed and will not make it again!

Quick and Easy Alfredo Sauce

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2011
I love this recipe! I took away a star because it is INCREDIBLY fattening. I have some on the stove now, actually. Tonight, I used FF milk, FF cream cheese, and a good quality parmesagn cheese instead of the powdered kind. The FF cream cheese had a harder time mixing in, but it turned out very well. I'd recommend this if you think you'll want more than one serving (or if you want to fit into your jeans the next day).

Pineapple Cheese Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2010
Thanksgiving 2010 was the first time I'd ever cooked or eaten this recipe. I'd tasted something similar at a Thanksgiving potluck last week, but we did not care for this. So, you've got this sickeningly sweet pineapple-y thing with butter and crackers (SALTY!) on top. So country. So Southern. So fattening. So greasy. So sweet. I'll never make this again. I'll do an informative, step-by-step review: First off, there are no 15-oz cans of pineapple at the grocery store. Only 20-oz and I believe 8-oz. Mixing: At first, it sounded way too sugary and dry. Somehow, those 8 Tbsp of pineapple juice really thin down the dry ingredients though. It's more runny than pancake batter. I added the pineapple and cheese & poured it into a buttered 9x13 pan. Didn't have any problems with it sticking. Topping: By "buttery round crackers", I assumed they meant Ritz. The crust was absolutely disgusting and did NOT taste like it was supposed to go on this sickeningly sweet casserole. It was more of a vegetable or chicken casserole topping. And that's WAY too much butter. The only reason for the 2-stars is because I like pineapple.

Iced Pumpkin Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2010
Absolutely heavenly! Imagine biting into an autumn cloud... may sound weird, but these cookies are SOFT and pillowy and contain every wonderful fall flavor. The texture is like muffin tops more than cookies. AMAZING!!!!! Today is the 2nd time I've made these cookies. The first time, I made the icing and it's super-sugary. I'm not making it this time. The cookies are fantastic w/o the icing (and that's the way I prefer them). For extra zing, sprinkle in a little ground ginger. Sprinkle the tops with extra cinnamon :) MUST MAKE!!!

Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookies I

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2010
Taste: Good. This dough was really tasty, although a little rich. Texture: Not a fan! They're too light and cake-like. I expected them to flatten out like cookies normally do, but they were lumpy & ugly. I decided to refrigerate the remaining dough & roll it into balls. Didn't work too well. Very messy & still lumpy. The texture is why I left off the 5th star. Not horrible, but not my favorite either.

Cream Cheese Frosting II

Reviewed: Jul. 25, 2010
Pretty good! What I love the most about it is that it's not super sweet. Many cream cheese frostings I've tried tend to be too sugary. It's really cheesy & awesome with carrot cake. The reason there is one star missing is because it's FATTENING & rich.
