Beef Tips and Noodles

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2014
Very good basic recipe. I used 2 cans of cream of mushroom healthy request soup with 1 pack of beefy onion soup mix plus 1 can of milk. I browned the sirloin cubes in olive oil and fresh minced garlic (about 1 TB) before adding it to mixture. Also added 1 tsp. of Worchestire sauce and 1 tsp. of kitchen bouquet browning sauce and seasoned with ground pepper and onion powder. Added fresh onion chunks (so my daughter could find them and remove them as she doesn't like them) and sliced button mushrooms. Cooked in slow cooker for 5-6 hours on low. Meat was very tender and sauce was flavorful. Served over buttered noodles with green beans as a side. One of my daughter's favorite dinners!

Feta Cheese Foldovers

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2011
I really enjoyed these as appetizers. I made 1/2 with just feta cheese and 1/2 of them with feta cheese with mediterranean herbs already added. The plain feta was good but the herbed version was better. I struggled a bit with my puff pastry because it was pre-cut in larger than three inch squares so I had to press it together and cut into the right size. I will definitely experiment with different flavored feta cheeses or make this with tiny diced ham added to make it more breakfast-y.

Spinach Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2010
Really enjoyed this. Used it as a side dish at Thanksgiving. Great because you could make it ahead of time and pop it into the oven for the 20 minutes that your turkey was "resting" before you cut it. The fried onions added a lot of flavor.

Best Ever Eye-of-Round Roast Hi-temp

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2010
My family loves this and it is so easy! I take mince garlic in oil and rub it into the roast plus rub gravy master over it (about 2 TB). Add a little pepper and garlic powder and into the oven! I like the meat medium rare so I cook it about 5 minutes per pound at 475 degrees and leave it in the oven about 2 hrs. Cut it thin and save the juices!

Slow Cooker Beef Stew IV

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2010
My family enjoyed this delicious stew! Might add green beans next time and maybe double the red wine. I used onion mushroom dry soup mix rather than the onion and also used the whole package rather than 1/2. Excellent!
