I'm an urban professional who loves to cook and wishes I had more time to do it. I hoard old copies of Gourmet magazine and am trying to learn how to eat and cook healthier. I've come a long way from having to have fatback in my Collard Greens...
My favorite things to cook
I love cooking Chili. It's my specialty. I also have recently become addicted to Japanese Fried Chicken after having it at a girlfriend's house several months ago. Chicken Parm and Ribs are also meals I cook well. I would love to learn how to make Chicken Marsala.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mother's side of the family is Southern, so Fried Chicken, Mac & Cheese, Yellow Turnips, Collard Greens, Sweet Potato Pie, and Black Eyed Peas are all family favorites.
My cooking triumphs
Finding an efficient and fast way to cut Collard Greens.
My cooking tragedies
Making double dipped Fried Chicken in a too small deep fryer. Oy!

Lo Mein Noodles
Excellent! Quick and easy. I don't like celery and carrots, so instead used broccoli and shrimp along with the sweet onion. I had to make the sauce twice as one serving wasn't enough to cover the spaghetti and I didn't even use a whole pack of spaghetti, but even so, it was delicious. Maybe a tad too salty but that's my fault. I didn't have any low-sodium soy sauce on hand. Next time I make it, I'll also use mushrooms. Oh, and I used olive oil instead of vegetable.

Oven Scrambled Eggs
Eh. Still searching for a great Scrambled Egg recipe. Maybe, this doesn't translate when you make it just for one. I divided everything by 8 to accomodate 3 eggs. Oh, well.

Easy Maple Pork Chops
Really good! My first try turned out a little tough as I realized I didn't use the thickness of pork chops the recipe called for, but even still reall good and quick. I'll definitely make it again and probably just leave in the over for 20 minutes instead of 45 as I don't often buy very thick pork chops.
