Fun and shopping is required.  Take the kids to thrift stores and find dishes that go with different cultures.  Mexican, Italian, Chinese, Indian, etc.  Then break them out when you're serving those type of meals.  Yes, you need a little storage space.  I use a bin and keep it in my front closet.  The kids love the unique experiences.  I love breaking out of the everyday mold and making dinner fun and not the same routine.

That's an idea that I haven't seen on a blog yet. I have a small collection of cultural pieces that we like to use. It makes the experience more authentic and it's just downright fun!

About Me
Super busy working mom with a kid in high school and one in elementary. I used to love to cook only when I had time. Now I love finding meals that are quick and good that also feed my creative side.
My favorite things to cook
Anything my kids love.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Prime rib and Yorkshire pudding for Christmas.
My cooking triumphs
The first time I cooked Prime Rib and Yorkshire Pudding for my entire family when my dad was too ill to cook it himself. Very scary since it was a huge family tradition and I didn't want to let them down.
My cooking tragedies
We had just moved back home to be near family. I invited the entire family for Thanksgiving dinner. Our oven went out. Try cooking an authentic Thanksgiving dinner on top of the was definitely an unforgetable meal.
