I've never been as "skinny" as my mom (size 0-4) and sister's (size 4-6).  As a kid, I was most active, but also the chunky one at 7-9.  In college I ballooned to a 12-14.  A few years out of college was my first trip to a Plus store and I've recently been as large as a 22.  I'm… MORE

This is a must for a busy family. Rotisserie chicken and Rice A Roni brand Parmesan Noodles.  While cooking the noodles according to package directions, cut up the chicken and steam whatever veggies your kids will eat. Stir together and meal is complete.  I've done this in under 10 minutes on… MORE

Week 1 - very grumpy.  Week 2 - mind was foggy and had uber cravings.  Week 3 - craving is gone and I've lost 16 pounds.  Got to go shopping.  It's been worth it :) Not only gave up Dr Pepper (my one huge calorie vice), but all sodas and switched to water.  Why? Because my youngest child… MORE

Fun and shopping is required.  Take the kids to thrift stores and find dishes that go with different cultures.  Mexican, Italian, Chinese, Indian, etc.  Then break them out when you're serving those type of meals.  Yes, you need a little storage space.  I use a bin and keep it in my front… MORE

Want a super easy recipe that's cheap and easy for nights when the kids have clubs/sports/events.  My kids loved it.  BTW my husband loved it too.  I doubled the marinade for the four of us.  Made the marinade in the morning and grilled it in minutes when I got home.  Perfect for my family's… MORE

About Me
Super busy working mom with a kid in high school and one in elementary. I used to love to cook only when I had time. Now I love finding meals that are quick and good that also feed my creative side.
My favorite things to cook
Anything my kids love.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Prime rib and Yorkshire pudding for Christmas.
My cooking triumphs
The first time I cooked Prime Rib and Yorkshire Pudding for my entire family when my dad was too ill to cook it himself. Very scary since it was a huge family tradition and I didn't want to let them down.
My cooking tragedies
We had just moved back home to be near family. I invited the entire family for Thanksgiving dinner. Our oven went out. Try cooking an authentic Thanksgiving dinner on top of the was definitely an unforgetable meal.
