About this Cook
Married 8 years to Jarrett, and a mother of 2 beautiful girls (6 yrs. & 20 mos.) Just moved to West Allis, WI due to my husbands new pastorate job at a local church. I enjoy doing ministry out of my own home, and cooking and hospitality are a big part of that. God gave me a great desire to learn to create with food ingredients. Not a big fan of following recipes, but I am easily inspired to try my own version of a recipe that I come to like.
My favorite things to cook
Chop! Chop! My favorite things to cook entail any chopping of vegetables! Soups, stews, stir fry, salads. I think it's the collection of colors and the organization of those chopped vegetables into little containers does something for me! Then when those colors of little chopped veggies come together in a soup pot or stir fry pan the aroma just takes it from there...
My favorite family cooking traditions
Baking a large variety of Christmas cookies weeks before the holiday even rolls around.
My cooking triumphs
Learning how to bake french baguettes and recently homemade pasta.
My cooking tragedies
~Placing a pan of golden baked biscuits on the stove top burner that was still on high. Oops! ~My first attempt at an apple pie...2 pies actually. The crust was actually decent, but the apples I sliced I actually left the peels on to be healthier, and added very little sugar nor cinnamon. They were horrible!

Millet Muffins
I was impressed with how light and moist these muffins were for having so much whole wheat flour in them. I felt so healthy while eating a muffin! The millet really does add a nice crunch. Great breakfast muffin, or even a helpful and healthy midday snack.

Ghirardelli(R) Dark Chocolate Truffles
What can one say when there is chocolate involved? These are good, so sayeth everyone I've ever made them for! The flavor is good, but you can really taste the butter come through. Not a big fan of that part. I'll continue to make them though!

Peppy's Pita Bread
Instead of baking these pitas off in the oven, I took them to the grill outside. They were so good! A great summertime bread to add to a grilled meal.
