Shrimp Linguine

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2010
This recipe is a great base, but as many reviews stated as it stands right now it is a bit bland. I added 3 times as much garlic and some green onions and it came out pretty good. I also heated the cream to near boiling, then removed from heat and added my cheese stirring until melted to make a thick creamy sauce. I also used seasoned frozen shrimp, cooked them on the stove top and then just added them to the sauce at the end. Finally tossing with linguine. The seasoned shrimp also helped add some good flavor.

Slow Cooker Beef Stew I

Reviewed: Jul. 24, 2010
I am really surprised at the number of 5 star reviews. This recipe is far from special as far as beef stew goes. Don't get me wrong, it is okay, but it needs a lot of doctoring to make it special. My husband and I found it to be pretty bland as it is. If your looking for a beef stew to wow people with, this is not it.

Pad See Ew (Thai Noodles with Beef and Broccoli)

Reviewed: Jul. 23, 2010
I was a bit unimpressed with this recipe. It was okay, but not great. I did double the batch and while cooking chickened out and only added half of the oyster sauce as the sauce was tasting very strong. I am glad I made this change and others agreed. With half the oyster sauce it is pretty good, but at full power it might have become overwhelming.

Slow Cooker Thai Pork with Peppers

Reviewed: Jul. 23, 2010
I thought this recipe was pretty good and had a nice flavor. I used unsalted all natural peanut butter and had a hard time blending the sauce so I used my immersion blender on the sauce to combine everything before adding the pork chops. I also used one green pepper and one red pepper, adding them 1.5 hours before serving (when I shredded the pork). This allowed the peppers to cook and absorb some flavor but not be mushy.

Seminary Muffins

Reviewed: Jul. 23, 2010
This is a really good recipe for a nice healthy breakfast muffin. I made 6.5 Jumbo muffins from this recipe and made half with chocolate chunks and half with Crasins and almonds. I accidentally added a bit too much apple sauce and added a bit of whole wheat flour to compensate and they came out a bit denser than I think they would have otherwise but still very good.
